Stronger Conrods?

I am purchasing a new car and would like to know the year/ date that Ford started putting the stronger rods in XR6T's?

They started in BF1's June 2006, I will be corrected shortly if im wrong

05/06 or 06/06 was when the BF Turbos got the F6 rods as far as I know...

not sure of the part number frank, but those are the only ones you can buy these days. There is a set for sale on the forum at the moment if you are interested

I've got a BF 05/06 I asked ford during the last service to tell me if it had to F6 rods. They said that there is no way to tell unless you visually inspect them. Is this right? I was hoping they could look up the engine number but apparently it doesn't work that way. pisses me off because I'm right on the cut off date

get them to check the build date of the motor... youll have to do this via the sido number and ford "should" be able to tell u dates when parts were made and assembled.

Just act on the basis that they are stronger & if engine goes bang, rebuild with forged components
