Is there cutouts in the parcel shelf if you want to add speakers later?

Nope.

The sound is terrible no matter which way you turn any of the knobs!!! I have played around with it alot, if you can get the sound loud without it distorting then send me your settings!!!!!

As I said, my mums 5 year old elantra is WWWWAYY better, my dads new zx6Aurion is WWWWAYY better. The sound is CRAPPPP!!!!!

I'm "probably" the only one to have had a stereo set up entered in a sound event also!! I think I'm a lot more critical then most on this subject, but the speakers are not even of a good quality sound!! 'Cheap', 'nasty', 'distorting' rubbish in three words.

Just had a look and there isn't cutouts but the steel parcel shelf looks like the BA one as there are recesses just where the old ones were located.

Is the sound any better over previous models?

Had premium sound in my BA XR6 and BAII XR6T. For factory systems, they were good enough.

But I played with the FG system for a bit this morning, spent most of my time with it off listening to the engine/tyre noises hehe. So far at moderate volume (20-22 I think) it sounded pretty good (CD full of VBR MP3's) to me.

If I can manage to drive slightly less stupid on the way home I'll pay more attention to the sound....

Better sounding splits, better sounding midbass. Neither system is great mind you.

I do like all the options in the equalizer in the ford. With some decent speakers it may put out some "ok" sound. not sure on the power rating from the ICC.
