Hissing On Boost

checked the rest of the bolts couple we a fraction loose, but the noise didnt go away :(

its sounds like a snake in the engine bay on boost

drove through a tunnel tonight and the tunnel echos the noise even more

wiill be puting it on a hoist tomorrow and checking all the hoses underneath

and the hose to the throttle body, does anyone know what size it is iff I want to replace it with silicone?

You sure the previous owner didn't have boost gauges, removed them and left the vacuum line in behind the dash and didn't block them off properly?

Check your grommets there might be a hole in one of them if the previous owner ran anything through the firewall. I get a very slight whistle in the cabin through one my grommets where my wires for my gauges come through the firewall. that just reminds me I really have to sikaflex it up.

ive checked the fire wall and the lines around the inlet manifold and cant find an evidence of anything out of place

ive check the pipe into the throttle body its fine

I found the clamp for the pressure side of the compressore housing not on properly. fixed that and its still there

im going to find this thing if it the last thing I do

Did you check the dump pipe bolts under the heat sheild?, also check that the gasket between the turbo housing and the mainfold isnt blown/cracked?

while I was in there I checked all the dump pipe bolts, thought it would save on taking it apart again

check the rubber hose that connects the crossover to the throttle body, this has been known to get small cracks in it, especially on the underside - good luck!

found it, becuase its a manual there is a grommet on the fire wall where the clutch line go through

and beacuase its ripped and so close to the turbo charger the noise its actually the exhuast gasses mixing in the dump pipe

well there you go! yeah the stock BOV looks wrong, just change it out for a decent one that will hold shut under higher boost.
