My BF turbo sedan has almost 50000k's on the clock, only mod is a growler CAI and it's been returning 11.7 l/100 for the last few months now (70% highway)

I just picked up my T on Friday after getting a C9 auto, 3 grand stallie etc....and I can watch the

fuel gauge head toward the empty mark as im driving. The pocket is begining to hurt, the joys of

modding.....

Does anyone notice a difference in fuel economy between different fuels? Eg. Shell V Power and BP Ultimate? Reason I'm asking is I've had some pretty poor tanks the last couple fills, getting around 15.5L/100 and a worst last night of 15.7 and that was a pretty easy tank too! These last few tanks I've been using V Power but I'm pretty sure when I was using BP I was getting around 14 - 14.2?

Picked up my manual FG sedan yesterday.

I put about 300 k's on it today. With a mix of town driving and open road driving I have my average down to 11 l/100kms this is including a few good kicks in the guts..... of course!

On the open road the instant consumption guage rarely goes above 10 and more often sits around 8.5 to 9. For a 400 km old car that is pretty decent! Its open road consumption is looking to be better than my old BA MK2 wagon was.

4000 km done - average 12.6 l / 100km so far. mix of town and open road driving. Pretty happy with it so far - easily better than my old BA by a couple of litres I'd say.

Hey,

I'm new to the whole Ford thing, I have been Expensive Daewoo all the way (opened minded), but the XR6T have always been very very appealing to me, I almost bought one before I bought my V8 wagon, they were still a little pricey. Now with the FG I'm getting pulled closer and closer, especially with the power figures against fuel consumption. Expensive Daewoo 6lt is a bit thirsty for my liking, and I could never drive a standard 6.

All the talk about fuel figures in this thread I haven't heard much about difference pre and post tune, excuse my ignorance in relation to tunes to the Fords, I'm going off my Expensive Daewoo V8 knowledge in relation to post tune generally bringing much lower fuel figures than they rolled out of the factory with.

Is it too early for these figures??? how did the BA's respond???

I know with power comes more fuel, but I want to try and get the best of both worlds (considering I just bought my first house)

I have had my fg XR6T ute for 6 weeks and have done 4000ks It has the 19inch luxury pack wheels sports bar lis and spoiler and I do a mix of freeway and traffic.

The best I get is low 11s and the most I have able to get out of a tank is 584ks on 98 premium.

On the freeway at 110 it sits on 10-10.9 on the computer.

I should have taken a video because I am sure you will doubt the authenticity of this but scouts honour its the truth.

FG xr6t ute m6 18" wheels. only mod is a hot dog replaced the centre muffler.

coffs harbour - newcastle = 7.8L/100 / AVG km/h 87kmh the key to this was staying under 100km/h which wasn’t hard with all the road works.

After I got sick of driving so slow I put the foot down from newcastle to sydney (120-130kmh) and the avg lifted to 8.5l/100.

pretty happy really - saw the dist to empty say over 900km after I filled up.

around town I get 12's with a couple of squirts here and there.
