The wife wants to replace her Y-Series Clubsport with a Typhoon. :hiwelcome:

Can you guys summarise the pros and cons of the T56 verses the ZF Auto Box?

She loves the Bionic colour, not too sure on it myself, what's eberyones view on Phoons in Bionic?

Looking at the market for used/demo/new...

ZF brilliant world class self shifter, will cost an absolute fortune if you break one

T56 Tough as old boots, but not the slickest shifting gearbox.

If you do a lot of city driving go the ZF.

Can't say anything about the T56, but the ZF yes. I've had mine for 8mnths - all good.

The ZF I's better suited to the hairdryer on full pump and its great around town. The ZF has a learning curve so it adjusts to your driving patterns. The "perf" mode is dam good, I take my phoon out for track days and to be honest I can use it in perf (auto) or tiptronic (semi-manual) and it makes bugger all difference. Get the big brakes if you like spirited driving, you wont regret it cause its almost 1800Kg to slow down!

Bionic is not a colour for wallflowers - stands out for sure, it looks the goods.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Yea bionic kicks ass.

Altho I prefer it at night time... Daytime looks a bit TOO bright

If you want fun.. Go manual.

Want a quick straight liner. Go ZF.

To be honest there are time's I wish I got mine as a manual.

Except the drag strip of course :spoton:

Mate, the F6 with the ZF auto is a world class product.

The turbo engine / auto combination is a more than the sum of its parts.

This is not the usual auto vs manual arguement - this turbo engine exploits auto boxes in a different way to manuals,- this became obvious with with the previous 4 speed auto. In addition, the ZF is another type of auto box.

The ZF is used in BMW, Jag, Masarati - the F6 does the implementation better than many of the models in that brand line up - again due to the turbo/auto nexus. The ZF is far, far, better than the DSG in the M3.

Now that white is the new sports car colour and no longer a 'fleet colour' the F6 R-Spec in white looks impressive.

Regards,

aa

The ZF is the choice gearbox for the Turbos. I have always had manuals, but got the ZF in the F6 and have never regretted it. Bets for all driving conditions except circuit racing.

Get the wife to try both, but I bet she goes for the ZF as they are one AWSOME gearbox.
