Anyone else with the SSS auto notice that when changing from 2nd to 3rd there is a thump or slight "boom" type sound followed by a slight kick? I've never heard it with other gear changes and have even tried shifting with my foot off the accelerator but no difference. I'm coming up to the 3K check but want to know if it is a common trait.

All the talk has been about the longevity of the manual box but this isn't giving me great confidence about the life of the auto.

Superoo you might need a new diff.Iwinged about a noise at the 3k check and it was the diff .With the new one fitted its still a bit clunky but ok.

see your dealer ...and clunk him/her B) (j/k non-violent site)

the end of the drive-train on these things can be lumpy but most are smooth depending on the car ... the autos are usually smooth by nature (I.e. no clutch) ... to the dealer ...

ps .. the autos on these cars are not showing problems (at this time :ermm: )

Mine sometimes clunks on down shift when the load is neutral. Never on up shift though. ( Did you take the guy out of the boot? The banging might be him trying to get out)

No problems with my SSS, althought the downshifts can be a bit lumpy (when not accelerating). I drove a Magna hire car last week and the Falcoon is smooth as silk in comparison!
