Revs Dropping While Braking

Hey guys,

This is a little hard to expain without actually being in the car but here goes....

When I brake (if im coming up to a stop light or something, and the car is nearly coming to a stop, maybe 20km/h) the revs drop down to around 500rpm, they then bounce back up to 1000rpm, then back down to 500rpm and will then usually balance out around 750rpm. Depending on how fast im going or how rapidly I brake they may bounce back and fourth quite a few times. It is really starting to annoy me, every time I brake at low speeds (ie going from driving revs back down to idle revs) it sounds as though the car is running sick or going to stall or something, but then will level out at idle and run fine....... Has anyone else had this problem?

I have an 05' T with around 30,000km on it, wog cooler, tune, 2nd cai, clutch etc

Any help would be much appreciated, and sorry if this is a repeat

Cheers

This could be your torque converter locking/unlocking while your car is changing down the gears

EXACT same problem here..

after reading a few threads it looks like it is the TPS. havent changed mine yet but others have had the same problem!

Yeah someone else has mentioned the TPS to me, im just a little worried ford wont want to replace it for me (if that is the problem) due to modification (even though the only obvious thing on my car is the cooler)

Anyone else got any ideas/experienced similar?

Check your car out for intake system and exhaust system air leaks. I had a leaky BOV that was causing my car the same problems
