December 26, 200619 yr #11 is there much grease in these cvs when it happens.is it black or yellow grease?? ←Yes heaps, most don't tend to smash the outer housing leaving bit's on the road and spraying grease from one end of the car to the other. Dumping from that high of an rpm at a standstill and I would guess not backing off instantly would have caused it to let go completly.I'm up to 7 or 8 now, 3 going while stock. Funny enough it's always the same one that's brakes.
December 26, 200619 yr #12 Author So he tried to launch the thing from near redline in someone eles's car while cold, I would have atleast been nice enough to take him for a walk down the road and given him a hiding.←Umm no mate it was his car, read the post agian.
December 26, 200619 yr #13 Why would you dial up 5500rpm to do a burnout? You can get a burnout started with alot less then that. Edited December 26, 200619 yr by XR6NA
December 26, 200619 yr #14 Mate we all make mistakes, and he will have to pay for his. Sorry to here about mate.Scotty
December 26, 200619 yr #15 So a car with 53,000 kms on it breaks a CV with a clutch dump at 5500 RPM and that's somehow piss poor from ford They build in a certain level of "idiot" factor when designing parts but you do things like that and stuffs going to break sooner or later.

December 27, 200619 yr #19 So has anyone had these replaced without warranty? And how much dollar's?←Yes a few times, I bought a whole BF diff & cradle for $1oo and put it in. Bargin.....A complete billet setup & spool is $8,ooo fitted, $6,ooo if you can get 5 or more deposit's. I was going to get a new cage and center peice made up, the guy said the material ford is is piss poor and he was going to machine some billet part's up but said it would be stronger than the factory gear but how much stronger is anyone's guess. I didn't go through with it as my car got damaged..... Edited December 27, 200619 yr by _XRQTOR_
December 28, 200619 yr #20 Author So what do you guys think about these CV joints under normal hard driving conditions? Meaning if you did not do any hard launches do you think they could withstand 300 RWKW with out them blowing, or is it something that even just a hard power out of a corner could break them?
