I just love living life on the edge and cutting that bar out just takes me closer. I think that bar is just there to protect pussy drivers who stick to the limit. You are perfectly right that it is done but not a good idea for the street.I was looking thru the latest Street Ford mag and on page 55 there is an add for AUTOKING discount warehouse. They have full custom body kits and intercooler kits. There is a picture of a BA with their body kit (looks OK) but it looks like that they have cut the whole bumper support out to get a large opening for the intercooler. It looks good and I wonder whether they did any other supporting in that area. It would be nice to have a bumper like that but if you get a Licky then you are stuffed.
