It's easy enough to diagnose with the right equipment. Fixing the problem is another thing all together.

I believe a zillion years ago, when Scotty (KTFord) got his black BBQ Xeded at Chiptorque, they picked up pinging with the stock Ford ECU!

He never heard it, but their little magic box thing could.

Lumpy :spoton:

If you reflash your tune, all your self learning should be cleared, hence you should instanly gain power if timing retard due to self learning is the case. I think :spoton:

Ive tried reflashing it back and back to F then back P3 and still feels the same

many many many years ago before I came to my sences I had a GTP (sorry DABOSS). I made the mistake of letting someone do a test on my car with a unichip, my car prior to the test was making 246 rwkw's, after the tune with unichip made 257 rwkw's. Anyways the unichip was removed and the car felt horrible, took it back to the dyno and it was now making 212 rwkw's, less then it did stock.

at this stage it has cai, headers and cats and exhaust. Anyways after about 2 months I had enough and was going to loose it, so I started going backwards in the order of the mods I had done, removed cai, no diff, removed exhaust, no diff now after every time I removed one of the mods I ran the car on the dyno then ran it home and then back to the dyno.

anyways by this stage I was under 200 rwkw's. Removed the cats and dynoed it, nothing... it was raining that day and the car had lost so much power it wouldnt even turn the tyres in the wet... I went to my mother in laws to pick something up and was on my way home, stopped at a set of lights and went to take off and half way through first gear the car just snapped...... went sideways and I was like WTF.

all the way home I was sideways and couldnt believe it, the car had pisked up power again... went straigh to t he dyno and bam 230 rwkw's with just the headers. put everything back on accept the cats and exhaust and settles with 240 rwkw's.

Then edit came and I put everything back on and the car was fine...

as least I thought. the car was maing a consistent 300 rwkw's. then one day I did a h uge thrash and the car felt off, went back to the dyno and what a suprise was down 30 rwkw's again..... pulled off the big cats and did some more kms again and low and behold I got back to 292 rwkw's... put the big cats back on 299.8 rwkw's...... this had me stuffed....... then I got an F6 and havent looked back.. :msm:

moral of the story is.... well I dont bloody know but how freeky is that stuff!!!!!!

I have never seen it again but that was some crazy stuff... it all started with that bloody unichip but :tease::spoton:

now turque reduction was off all the correct maps done to ensure this couldnt and shouldnt happen. Then I did a track day and the car never did the\at thing again....the car was always at a tsable 298 to 300 rwkw's. but something strange happened, also the strange thing that happened, wasnt throttle shutting, checked it, wasnt pulling timing out, and it wasnt making the afr's go funny, everything was as it should have been :bum: .. insert twlight zone music here <<<<

thanks simon

you know wrxkilla has his name down for next trip 1+2 dec. less than 1 week away

there are many posible reasons for this and being local does not mean it will get sorted!

it may mean the access is better but not necesarily the knowledge/experiance too!

all those with my tunes know what my customer service is like and they would agree it is second to none

basically its like raphoons car for example the car drove well no aparent problems other than it hit 14psi and would not budge no leaks to be heard etc.

remove the turbo to set up a new actuator and walla a blown turbo gasket only enough to leak over 14psi not being aparent due to engine and road noise add to that a helmet and even less to be heard!!!

again 1,000,000 reasons

It's predictable how these threads turn into crap.

Whilst the intensions of the originator may be to get some ideas, the thread is used as an opportunity for tuner bashing. Very predictable, with only the names of the bashers changing depending on the tuner involved. Each have their own agenda for doing so.

It is difficult enough to diagnose unusual issues with the car sitting on the dyno, let alone across a forum with limited facts. :tease:

For example, I believe Killa's first run was done with quarter tank or less and the second run with the car almost full. Add to that any other issues that may be there and VOILA...
