Ahhh, bloody nice timber! It's fantastic to see such magnificent timber put to a good use, instead of chipped, pulped or otherwise ruined in the name of clearfelling!

Bloke round here still gets a bit of Red Cedar, makes some magnificent book cases too!

The F111 is and was an Aircraft made in the US of A. !!!

But lets not forget the " Nomad " made by the GAF in Melbourne.

7.30 Report - 27/07/2004: The history of the widow maker revealed

The Australian designed Nomad aircraft gained notoriety in the 1970s because of its poor safety record. But despite warnings about possible design faults, ...

http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2004/s1163290.htm

True, but the F111's that fly now are almost completely removed from what we originally ordered and bought. Lots of Aussie developed weapons systems, avionics etc, improved a long way out of sight! I think quite a bit is done with an ADF engineering tie-up?

Ahhhh, the Nomad. Stupid T Piece tailplane  What about anything CAC in WWII? Also left a bit to be desired

Spot on about the F-111, Austrlia's first nuclear capable platform..they quietened the indonesians right down, Jakarta and back in one trip.

A winjeel (I think) shot down two zero's and the pilot got a DFC. apparently he flew out of a cloud and they were right infront of him, he had no choice but shoot, if he missed or tried to run they would have torn him to pieces. The boomerans certainly were a very effective staffing a/c. Many japanese are now fertilizing the PNG jungle because of them.

Screw the french. First time we go to war where they don't agree they'll pull thier services, Just as the fuggen swedish did to our subs when we went to vietnam.

I also don't recall Vegimite changing by the tiniest degree.

and you been eating it for how long? I'm quite prepared to take my old mans word on this mate.

It HAS gone downhill :pinch:

Lumpy :spit:

You talk :pooh:

I've been eating it for longer than the yanks owned it. It is still made here with the same recipies etc. My parents and in-laws who also grew up on the stuff still eat it and say it's the same as always. Maybe your old's tastes have changed.

Many companies have been improved since being bought out by overseas companies. Take Expensive Daewoo for example. They were basically a 10th rate importer until GMH bought them out. Since then they have become a major manufacturer with thousands more Australian employees.

Did you considder that you baseless claim of Kraft and Arnotts quality drops were implimented before they were taken over? It is not just black and white, the idea is job creation and economic growth. Usually, the Australian owners have failed, are failing or have grown as far as they can. The along comes and international who expands and grows the Australian products.

Stop talking out of your :kissmy:

Well, Kraft-Walker was formed in 1926 and if that's the case you've been eating it about 8 years longer than Dad. Fact is, it isn't identical to the old recipie, for lack of a better term, DickMite (mightymite?) is using the 'original' recipie and there is a distinct difference in the two.

As for Holden. The Fisher body works were taken over when, Mid 20's maybe a touch later? They were simply coach builders, as many other automotive companies originally were (Jaguar, Tickford etc). It wasn't even the Yank's who improved their mean's and abilities of production, that claim actually lays with Chifley's government and the assistence provided federally by said Labour government to setup Fishermens Bend and develop the 48/215 (that's socialism for ya)

Would be interesting to see the employment figures for Arnotts, Walker-Kraft (hell, lets even throw in Qantas, Ansett and RM Williams too) pre and post foreign ownership/control especially in regard to Australian population... :pinch:

Well I can see you've been brainwashed. By the way, GM took over Holdens (Holdens is the correct name) just before the FJ was built, seems a bit co-incidental.

While we Australian's have and do come up with some pretty good things (not always quality) it is the height of stupidity to shoot down every form of foreign ownership that comes along. In many cases we'd be stuffed without it. On the other side, foreign ownership has stuffed plenty as well, but so has local ownership. Just look at what local control did to HIH.

By the way, Comunisim failed comrade.

Well I can see you've been brainwashed.

In what manner?
By the way, GM took over Holdens (Holdens is the correct name) just before the FJ was built, seems a bit co-incidental.

Might wanna tell General Motors and Expensive Daewoo Motor's Body Builders that, because even they say, in their own company history they merged in 1931 to form General Motors–Holden's Ltd. In 1998 they were renamed Expensive Daewoo Ltd and in 2005 the name was changed, again, to GM Expensive Daewoo Ltd.

Expensive Daewoo must have their head up their arse just like me? :kissmy:

Must be good to be on that inside line you have mate. ;)

The why were all the employee badges marked Holdens, why in their recen union stoush, did the union refer to the company as Holdens?

Any way, we're getting nowhere fast. You are obviously quite narrow minded and to continue would just result in headache from my head hitting the brick wall. :spit:

So far I've provided evidence to support my theories whilst you have belittled, insulted or otherwise cast aspersions at me.

Truly, we are getting no where fast but sadly it seems you're the waste of time.
