October 13, 200620 yr #23 Author Had a bit of a think about this, they did own 50%, so maybe 100% will alow a better decision making process. Whatever you think of ADI, whilst it may take ages and continuousely come in way over budget, it does make some good gear. When Australia brought the Leopard Tank, all we had to do was buy about six more and we would have had the rights to build a factory and build them in country, read into this cheaper and more reliable source of parts, and upgrades, as well as expertice. No we are doing it all over again with the Abrahm, buying from overseas. In this case we have to.So maybe this could very well be a good thing and some good high quality product will be made and exported.Time will tell.Scotty

Also, a few years back, Ford Australia bough over some Mazda technitians to show them how to improve their quality control and productivity. Basically, if it is being sold here, then someone here is benefiting from it and everyone takes a cut along the way. If I like something I buy it. I won't compromise my decisions based on where it is made. I companies want me to buy their Australian products then they'll have to meet my quality and price requirements.

A real credit to the Aussie's who have persisted and developed what is known as one of, if not the best aircraft of it's class in the world, even amongst contempory competition!Lots of ingenuity and excellent engineering are poured into all this stuff and if we can make a quid exporting decent quality stuff back overseas, it's worth it! The results are more than just monetary Lumpy
October 13, 200620 yr #29 Author I know, if only we could update airframes and generally make newer improved versions we would be laughing.Scotty

Since when did Ford or Expensive Daewoo produce 'quality' products. I also don't recall Vegimite changing by the tiniest degree.
