I am not 100%, but I think the high & low series would be different bems.

There are 2 different BEM's for non alarm XR6T's

A blue one which is for the low series, and a green one for high series.

The difference is in the amount of sensors (sunlight, cabin etc) which are input into the BEM, and also the auto headlight feature.

Looks like I will finally get my car back tomorrow.

Only scary part is the fact that Ford have been unable to find anything wrong with it, and have not been able to replicate the problem since last Friday :msm:

I will check the BEM when I get the car back, to see if there any obvious potentials for a bad connection inside, as the fault was either caused by the BEM or the PCM, as the CAN bus network does not report any errors I.e. bad connections and the like.

All fun and games :tease::msm::spoton:

You wouldn't want to be straying too far from home until it's known to be sorted, that's for sure.

As it's been explained to me, the car won't stop while it is running, but if you turn the engine off - Look out, it may be stranded :spoton:

Obviously not a very comfortable feeling, but not really any choice in the matter :puke:

OK got my car back from Ford yesterday :wootjump:

There were two consequtive errors.

1) The BEM appear to have intermittent errors, due to bad soldering on the 'push through' terminals that make up the connector pins for the plugs. When looking at these soldering points in 5x magnification, it is clear to see that the solder is broken, and thus possibly not providing a continuous connection.

2) The T-MAP sensor was faulty, resulting in weird on road behaviour, with no kick-down, lots of pinging on boost, and generally lethargic behaviour.

I now run my original 'low' series BEM until I can get a replacement 'high' BEM in the car again, and it now starts reliably.

Changed the T-MAP sensor last night (thank's to Simon for lending me another one), and the difference was immediately noticable, so no doubt the sensor was dead.

So all in all, very happy again :fool:

Strewth, that was a saga. Been wondering how you were dealing with it whilst I've been away for a few days, glad to hear she is moving again.
