last time I said it was a problem at 3000km service they said it was normal coudnt find any faults. They also said they couldnt hear a rattle, until I made it clear to them how blatently obvious it was. makes me wonder if they even changed the oil like I paid for

any1 got any ideas on wats wrong with it.

Mate it could be your driving style, not saying it is, but be concious as to how you drive. I am talking about how you approach lights, built up traffic, how you brake, auto v manual etc.

Just a thought.

I give me car shizit off the lights and around town but most of my driving is 100km/h I average 12.9L get around 480-510km's to a tank

I got afrs of around 11.5 with 968s.. and my fuel economy is better then when stock part of that is because I'm more concious of my fragile T5 with the extra load going through it my last few tanks I've averaged around 12.5L/100km.. And that's with the occasional squirt and WOT runs pulling away from certain holdens

Fattony, I'd assess your driving first, then take it to ford. If you're gunning it off the lights in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears everytime, then I can see your fuel usage being that high. (not implying that you do, just an example) Also, if you're always driving on boost, or use boost in every gear change then you'll be amazed at how much fuel it uses.

As a little experiment, I used cruise control on a country trip, mix of hillies, and straight freeway. When I used cruise control I returned an average fuel reading of around 10.6L, however, when I used my right foot I got about 12L. Simply because cruise control doesn't use boost unless it needs it (up hills). Me, however, used boost everytime I had to overtake, I'd really put the foot down.. even using 5-7psi had a massive increase in fuel.

I also prefer to save my WOT driving for when I need to pull away from other cars or really have the itch. also makes me appreciate the power more, and not get as used to it and wanting more so soon

I averaged 18 - 19 lph in the ute. Sometimes 20. Your doing well.

Having said that most traffic lights look like christmas trees to me!

Alot of it's driving style...

On the freeway I got 10-11 lph on a long trip...

Same problems here.

About 17.3 around town, 12,500 on the clock.

Thank God for the company fuel card!
