Funny how all the retailers that can't get their hands on them say that!

I've used a selection over the past 15 years including NEC, Toshiba and Dell. The last few have all been Dell and I have been happy with them. Currently have a Dell D610.

I need to travel with it, so opted for a smaller screen than previous, but performance is important to me, so I have generally optioned up on HDD and RAM

Why not have a look on Graysonline for some nearly new stuff including unuse stuff. Might find a bargain

You call that foundation? A bunch of moaners with a gripe? That'd be like someone asking what the xrt is like and sending them to this forum. :fool:

If you are after REAL personal accounts xr6 typhoon, I have never had any problems with Dell machines that weren't resolved with minimum fuss. The only negative point I have is their call centres are in India - but what company doesn't so the same these days!

Out of the 4 laptops, at least 30 PC's and three servers that I have purchased from Dell over the past few years, have had faulty RAM on one of the lappies (replaced on-site by 10am the following day), and a graphics problem on a pc that the motherboard was replaced in within the same day but it turned out to be a dodgy windows install.

But then if you are after hyped up crap then visit the site above and count them out of your decision :spoton:

It doesn't matter which notebook you buy, there is always a risk that it will fail, and you cannot easily fix it.

I would always take out an onsite maintenence deal. they are usually next day fix.
