Ninka Legacy Donating Member 1,850 Member For: 23y 9m Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 02/06/06 01:03 AM Posted 02/06/06 01:03 AM What do you all think of the prospect of the Japanese gaining the majority vote to resume commercial whaling I guess if they kill enough of these peaceful creatures, we will have to take our whale watching tourists to a museum to see any whales.Apparantly nothing is off the agenda, so they will kill Humpback Whales, Blue Whales, Southern Right Whales and lots of other species currently recovering from near extinction.Maybe it's time to get a "don't buy japanese" campaign going, as I think the only way to stop this, is to hurt their wallet.What do you all think?

Legacy Donating Member 7,935 Member For: 22y 7m 10d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 02/06/06 10:45 AM Posted 02/06/06 10:45 AM The eating of Whale meat is usually only done by older Japs as the younger ones are strongly against it.There are young Japs protesting this practice, but as the hunters are saying its for research, there is not a lot of press about it in Japan.I like the guy who was kicked out of Greenpeace for being too militant, he has an icebreaker and rams the whaling ships As for whaling, there are no shortages of whales anymore as the Japs and Finnish people hardly make a dent in their population.
