April 7, 200620 yr #51 to prove it unlike yourself who holds NO credibilityThat's great coming from a silly fool who blew his own engine up and has now gone on a bitter vendetta to prove everything was responsible for it except his inability to look after his own assets. Lets get that in prespective for a minute, that was the tuners OWN car raced by pro driver over two years ago that was a once only pass and never done again yet has been beaten by up to 10 times by privately owned Edited T's You can't have it one way and not the other chump. The car ran the time - AND it ran it in 35 degree temps with unichip. It makes the power and does the times. End of story.I mean NOBODY has spent $30+k on a xr6t and only run a 12.6 and still thinks that they have the best available tuning device on the market ←Well there's you who hasn't run a good time at all, and now sits back and watches someone else brake into the 10s with their old car because they don't know whan RON means Now that's a STOOGE..........................Dam straight
April 7, 200620 yr #52 There is a big difference between an editted car and a chipped car when it comes to racing. With the edit your able to take out alot of the protections that slows the car down when racing. The edit allows you to increase the stall speed and change parameters in the ecu that reduce power to the engine when safety levels have been exceeded. Having said that, these safetly levels aren't always exceeded when racing - likewise on the street. APS have proved that when running 127mph times, as did C&V with their 10 second pass.Stalling up the converter is beneficial for reducing ETs and the edit is great for this.Saying one car has X amount of power and this is greater than another car with the same state of tune just because of power inhibiters which affect the car some of the time, isn't accurate.←Steve I'm afraid that you're completely wrong on both accounts. The C&V car went 124mph see below.I believe an APS car did do 127mph but if that's the best that the Unichip can do I wouldn't be bragging about it.On your second point about edited vs chipped cars with similar power you're wrong again. How much experience have you personally had with cars that have run both edit and xede??? I have had lots and my personal experience is that an editted car with 332rwkw's is far superior to a chipped car with 328rwkw's. Not only can the edit get more power on pump fuel than the chip can achieve with the help of a booster, the editted car is also much better in all areas. I know this for a fact as my car as been tuned with xede only and then with a combination of xede/edit and now is all edit. Here is the bottom line. With the xede only my car had a best of 11.5. With edit it has dropped to 10.6. That is a significant difference. The 11.5 was done on a cold night and the 10.6 was done on a 26C day.Unless you're keeping something from us you don't have the same experience with the edit/chip and aren't in a creditable position to compare the 2.Geea.
April 7, 200620 yr #53 Author Just thought I would bring it back on topic a little...I have been to the tuner today to arrange for them to have a look at it as they knew something had to be wrong. They put the car on the dyno and it pulled 242rwkw's. In a way that made me feel a little better about my effort Wed night. What happened was I had taken the car back after the original tune as the cold start was not correct. When the cold start was being adjusted, somehow the tunes were not labelled correctly and the result was a 242rwkw tune that ran a 13.2. The tuner retuned the car and I will be out again on Wed to back it up with some times. I would also just like to comment on the customer service I have recieved to fix the problem. I am not going to name the tuner but I have been happy with service and will be going back. The real test is going to be on the track and the comparison between their tune and the one I eventually get in Melbourne while down for the BVW2.I have attached the new dyno and would like to hear what your opinions are on the new tune. It is a bit down on power(273) from the original tune(279) they did but feels a little stronger down low. I still feel it is about 10-20rwkw off what most other people are getting with my level of mod's.I am expecting a mid to high 12.

The MPH would indicate around 245-250rwkw's. The only thing that could be wrong is if the tune is very peaky and has no power down low. With what you've told us it sounds like you need to get a better custom tune. Who has tuned the car so far?Geea. ←It will be good to see what you run on wednesday. When are you going to tell us the tuner?Geea.
April 7, 200620 yr #57 Still a nice run Ch0pper. fill, that power curve looks nice albeit a little slim in the mid range.
April 7, 200620 yr #58 Looks like Geeseman was wrong afterall.Good luck next week Fill. BTW How's the transmission holding up?Rob
April 7, 200620 yr #59 Author Looks like Geeseman was wrong afterall.Good luck next week Fill. BTW How's the transmission holding up?Rob←Trans is holding up well so far; probably because I really only had 242rwkw until today. Had the line pressure increased today as much as possible for the 1/4 mile.
April 9, 200620 yr #60 Steve I'm afraid that you're completely wrong on both accounts. The C&V car went 124mph see below.Read my post again craig. The comment about C&V was in relation to proving the unichip's capability not 127mph.I have had lots and my personal experience is that an editted car with 332rwkw's is far superior to a chipped car with 328rwkw's. Not only can the edit get more power on pump fuel than the chip can achieve with the help of a booster, the editted car is also much better in all areas. I know this for a fact as my car as been tuned with xede only and then with a combination of xede/edit and now is all edit. You know this because you have tuned both products, have you?Ok then, explain to me how it is possible when both control timing, fuel and boost pressure? Here is the bottom line. With the xede only my car had a best of 11.5. With edit it has dropped to 10.6. That is a significant difference. The 11.5 was done on a cold night and the 10.6 was done on a 26C day.Unless you're keeping something from us you don't have the same experience with the edit/chip and aren't in a creditable position to compare the 2.I run both on my car and the edit's value is in elimination ECU restrictions that are placed there to protect the engine and/or driveline. These restrictions, or their elimination, is what has seen your car run faster (well, or to assume so - I have no idea how each product has been tuned on your car), but even then these ECU restrictions are not present under ALL conditions. The fact that APS have run 127mph in a ute many times 2 years ago proves this. The fact that C&V ran a 10second pass in their car also proves this.Saying one car makes more power than another is incorrect. Saying one can produce more power under certain conditions (which you may not wish to reproduce due to risk of engine/driveline failure) is a more accurate statement.Either way, one can use either product to make great times.
