February 27, 200620 yr #1 I picked up my flash tuner last friday and what can a say but awesome. I am just running the 8 PSI generic tune until I get a custom tune in the near future. I did go for a squirt on the 10 PSI tune and I think the way the arse end steps out on you at about 3500 rpm is incredible. Anyway, I did have a question regarding the reverse lock out on the 6 speed manual. When cruising yesterday and about to slip into 5th with a rather attractive lady walking down the road, hence my attention was diverted, I noticed that it let me through the gate to select reverse, not that I did, but was concerned that the gate was opened. Has anyone else noticed this? I gather the generic tunes have been built off a 5 speed program without this lock out functionality and I also gather those who have customed tuner their 6 speed's have been able to keep this function.
February 27, 200620 yr #2 Mine wanted to ( and I tried to make it ) go in at 180kph on the back straight at the FPV day. wirrr crunch crunch wirrrrrrr.. Didn't like it one bit, And I was really trying to get it in there. I knew about the reverse lockout, so I assumed it was having trouble getting into 5th, although it was a bit too far accross in the gate, I tried anyway..I told the service advisor, he seemed very suprised and said it can't happen..
February 27, 200620 yr #3 Lifted from autowebOne issue the adoption of a six-speed gearbox raised was the location of reverse."With reverse gear located next to fifth, we engineered an electronic lockout system which prevents reverse being selected on the move."The engine management system automatically enforces the lockout when it reads the car is travelling at more than 5km/h."
February 27, 200620 yr #4 At least Im not the only one putting it in reverse. And I was aiming for a quick 2 to 3 change.Max

February 27, 200620 yr #7 Loosing the reverse function cant be good. I have also noticed when you miss 2nd or 3rd (T56) whilst doing eratic doughnuts, that the tacho goes nuts despite backing off and you can severely stink the clutch......my advice, make sure you get that gear and dont get complacent. I think M6 XR did a thrust bearing in the T56 missing a gear too??

There were as loose as
