its illegal in all states... TO A DEGREE... depends how dark u go. ive noticed in the last 2 years ALOT of cars are starting to come with tinted lights from the factory. for example, the new toyota aurora or whatever its called.

the stuff used to tint them is called "Nite-Shades Lens Tint", but one thing ive found with this is when sprayed on and dried its left with a matt finish. and NO its not overspray, its just how it is. ive found for it to look good you need to go over them with clears to get them looking shiny and glossy.

or as mentioned above, put a few drops of black in some clears and do it that way.

im tossing up to do my rear tail lights in the ute but I think I might leave it until im off my good behaviour bond. I dont need any extra attention from the boys in blue yet.

Waaaay back in the dim dark ages (like when I was 17) ... you could buy spray cans of lens tint .. possibly the same stuff that Trough Lolly mentioned. In order to not get that matt finish, you sprayed it on the inside of the taillight lens, not the outside.

Anyone thought of trying normal window tint? Does it work that way?

Ahhhhh just read the other topic as posted earlier... I reckon the tint film would be the go... it can be removed if you have to!
