December 20, 200520 yr #1 BUGATTI VEYRONWorld record top speed for a production car 408.47km/h“Bugatti’s official figures”736 KW@ 6000 RPM1250 NM from 2200 to 5500 RPM0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds0-200 km/h in 7.3 seconds0-300 km/h in 16.7 seconds0-400 km/h in 55.6 seconds0-400 Meters in 9.9 seconds @ 228km/h100 km/h to 0 km/h in 2.3 seconds400 km/h to 0 km/h in 9.8 secondsHere is a small video 0-210 km/hhttp://www.leftlanenews.com/2005/12/14/bug...30-mph-footage/This car is a master piece, it is like no other car ever built, and I really don’t think that in this day and age it is ever going to be beaten.Bugatti are selling them for $1600000 each and are taking a loss of $4000000 on each car.It is said that Bugatti built it simply to see if it could be done. They got F1 help on the cars aero but after 360 km/h the F1 boys said you’re on your own.You see even if a company wanted to build a car to beat the Veyron (and they would have to beat it or their would be no point) they would be faced with the herculean task of the basic research that would have to go into building a car like that. It would have to be an exercise based purely on status and nothing more. The task of keeping 1888Kg on the ground at 400km/h is a tough job I mean a 767 will lift at 300 km/h and be air bound. In addition for ever 1 km/h after 360 km/h an additional 10 HP is needed, that’s easy said then done when cooling starts to became an issue. The Veyron has 6 radiators and two intercoolers, can you image the gearbox and diff heat of the oils alone so its not just as easy as more power = more speed. In this case more power and torque = more heat. Any way I just thought I might share that with you and get your thoughts on it.
December 20, 200520 yr #2 Just a bloody amazing feat of engineering, blows away the up until now fastest ever production car the Mclaren F1 by a huge margin.Makes you wonder what cars our kids will be driving in 20 years that's for sure.
December 20, 200520 yr #3 Author Just a bloody amazing feat of engineering, blows away the up until now fastest ever production car the Mclaren F1 by a huge margin.Makes you wonder what cars our kids will be driving in 20 years that's for sure.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes so true. If you give a Mclearn F1 a head start from 0 to 120mp/h on to 200mp/h and the Veyron takes of when the maca hits 120 it will still beat it from stan still to 200 mp/h. Amazing!!
December 20, 200520 yr #5 Its said that if the previous fastest car, the Mclaren F1 was to go passed a VEYRON standing still at 200 clicks, the VEYRON would still beat it to 300...
December 20, 200520 yr #7 Does the same 1/4 as the fastest T Awsome car, I think it will be voted the best car ever built.
December 20, 200520 yr #8 It is said that Bugatti built it simply to see if it could be done.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>They are planing on building a smaller Bugatti, to make a profit with. (Car and Driver Nov '05) $125000 USD with VWAG parts (Lambo, Bentley, etc.) and would be expected to earn a profit the following year.
December 20, 200520 yr #9 I am waiting for someone to say it..."Why spend all that money when you can mod a XR6T to be just as quick?"Come on. You guys are letting me down!Bugatti is an awesome car. Can not wait to see one in person. The exhaust note in that video sounded mighty hot too!
December 20, 200520 yr #10 I am waiting for someone to say it..."Why spend all that money when you can mod a XR6T to be just as quick?"<{POST_SNAPBACK}>You can't, it's simply impossible to keep a falcon on the road at 400km/h..
