chippa Slippery when dry Donating Members 368 Member For: 18y 5d Gender: Male Location: Foot Hills W.A Posted 12/07/11 11:25 AM Share Posted 12/07/11 11:25 AM (edited) woah that is a OG poster there haha.....feebs????P.S I just spilt a full glass of water all over my laptop.....used my cat like beer drinking reflexes to flip it over after it blacked out ,unscrewed it all, alot of cursing,blaming the kids pulled it all apart and got the hairdryer onto it....Still didnt work,pulled apart again...saying why didnt I backup!!!! pulled out the HD and slapped it back in,put it together and was just about to throw against the wall when.....it started!!!!Came up with some Bios thingy saying dates werent right (SteveR you can jump in at any time )I just chose default....I hope it doesnt sh*t itself!!! Though I've heard people say that once you let it dry out it's usually ok...and I've seen a few wet lappies come good, about 50/50 I think.If it fails again you can get data off easy enough (as long as the HDD isn't affected, only the motherboard, the bit that told you your BIOS settings were reverting to defaults F1 to continue etc).Always have 2 copies, one on machine, on NOT on machine. Preferably in a fire and theft proof safe, and add online to that as well for true offsite backup. Slow to recover though compared to local backup drive.Yeah it was Feebs! I have a pic of your rims from the Gin Gin cruise I think, but wasn't on photobucket so I had to google a bit. Are yours Advanti chameleons?
