Ford seems to have acknowledged that there is a significant loss in audio volume when playing a device such as iPod or Discman through the Auxillary Plug, this may rectify the situation. Comes at a cost though...

Interesting too that the pic shows the device hooked up to a standard sound system, not a Premium. I thought you could only have the Auxillary Plug connected to Premium?

$130 say's it's NOT a "booster" but just a retractable cable.....

Anyone know where the colouriser has gone from the Ford site? :spoton:

What I find most interesting about the photo is the iPod is a few years old! (But I am strange.)

According to people on other forums, the booster is a pre-amp that is powered from the mobile phone power source, and includes a piggyback to keep mobile phone power. Aux input available on all series sound system I believe.

Poo-> I'm looking at the Alpine Vehicle Hub. Is that what you've got? Didn't know it was available yet.

Had it done a while ago before I got the Alpine unit.

It's terrible -  you don't wanna go near it for even $20

What's wrong with it? Does it work or not?

I have the aux input installed in my BA 6cyl NA and it was a complete waste of time and money. The volume is about half of what the standard cd player puts out and sounds worse than a $20 radio cassette deck.

I hope they bring something out to fix this.

ummm.....

I think this is what this thread is about.

Ford have released a boosted AUX port with a amp to over come the quiet aux port problem with some audio devices

Yes this does fix the volume problem and it's about the same as a cd.

And YES I have got one and it works well :spoton:

Thanks fraggle :spoton:

I'm curious about the unit. How is it installed? Does it just plug in somewhere? I'm paranoid about Ford servicing apprentice hacking away and drilling holes in my console.
