From the moment I rang them to make the claim they have been really helpfully. 1st of all they knew about all of the mods in my signature, and they were listed on my policy. When I went to have a look at the car in their claim center I was told it had been written off I asked if I could keep a few things from the car (doesn't hurt to ask) I wanted the wheels and the DVD player. They said yes as long as I replaced the wheels with mags. I then thought I would push my luck and ask if I could keep the APS exhaust as well!!! They umed and arred a bit about it and finally decided to let me keep it as long as I replaced it. Lucky I kept the original! They even let me use the hoist in their center I even got to keep the Unichip. It will do as a paper weight And today just 8 days after the accident I received the payout cheque for about $7k more than it was probably worth PS changed my house insurance over to them today and saved $450.00PSS I don't work for them!!!!! You hear of so many horror stories it's great to see someone who got their monies worth. A shame she's gone, so what's next on the cards? When I had my altercation with the law, HBA was going to double my policy cos of my history. I rang AAMI, listed my suspension and it was still $90 a year cheaper than my current policy, before the rise! Needless to say we changed over both cars and both houses and are saving close to 1500 bucks a year all told! And I am a rating one for life! And they allow unlimited mods as long as they are listed.Go the AAMI, a differnt mob to what they were a few years back. None of this "its over 12 months old, try and source second hand" crap that NRMA force their selected panel beaters to use. And becasue Dad hardly ever lets me drive the T, I have taken a reduced yearly premium, higher excess option. Saves me hundreds, literally. And as long as the car is legal, they are also happy with my mods. The agreed value was in excess of the purchase price. Can't complain about that! No claim YET but their service so far has been great. I checked with local brokers, CGU, banks etc but no one could match AAMI. I had a prang at 7am 60k's from home. I got it towed home, then to my choice of repairer ( usually one free tow ), assesed and approved for repair by 8am the next day. The car was fixed, cleaned and picked up 7 days l8r ( $5k damage bill ), ready for a trip away the following day. It saw me switch my other car over to them aswell.. I even rung them and thanked them for the swift service.. We may bag insurance companies, but they sure have come a long way in recent years, and it makes the pain of the premium a touch sweeter when we have a hassle free claim. At fault or not. I have had two claims (both not-at-fault though) through AAMI and I couldn't have asked for better service, and I did the same with contents insurance as you have. It's refreshing to know that others have experienced their great service and these were not just flukes. How long until your behind the wheel of another T?
