Pre Delivery Check

Howdy all,

I pick up my brand new XR6T, 6 speed manual, sunroof, luxy interior on sat morning, after waiting a little over a month. I was talking to Bain and he suggested a couple of faults I should check for before I sign the deliver document. He suggested around the sunroof for scratches, and under the top door seal for any faults. and obvilously the paint work. Can anyone add anything I should check before signing it.

Check the front gaurds and see if they match up with the door!!.......also the bootlid if it's aligned

Check the colour of your car first up. I've heard of the wrong colour car rocking up on several occasions.

If you're fussy, have a look under the front bumper. Mine had a few mm shaved off the bottom where it was probably launched off a truck ramp or something

When I picked my T up, the engine wouldn't idle. I fell for the bullsh*t which went along the lines of "don't worry mate, after about 300k, she'll be right"

The real fix was to replace one of the components in the overhead cam assembly. So it ran like crap for 2 days until I could get it back to Ford.

So, make sure she purrs like a kitten before driving away!

Get the damn thing inspected by NRMA, RACV or what ever you have in your state. There the experts and at a $150 or so from NRMA, what great piece of mind it is.

If youre spending 50k on a brand new car, you shouldnt need NRMA or RACV to check the car out.
