May 16, 200521 yr #12 SMBCheck out the dump pipe, looks the goods to me.. Cat is $382, and fits up to the dump pipe. I think a bit of custom pipework would be in order to join the cat to the factory BA pipework after the ( original ) cat, but would cost a couple hunge to do??If I go anything, it will be this setup.
May 16, 200521 yr #13 I would think it's better to spend $$ on a Cat than the broomstick, although the Broom-stick is probably good for testing the theory of increasing performance. With roadside smog sniffers becoming more common you'd not want to get the fine for the gutting cat ($10K I believe), and while they may not throw the book at you for having an in-effective cat they can definately pick a de-cat/gutted job easy. Hell you can smell the difference!A.

Hell you can smell the difference!A.They can't book you for what they "think" is a gutted cat. They demand that car be supplied for tested, in which you would obviously just put it back to stock for the test...of course if they have a road side testing station, well then your just fecked...Dave.

If you look at the post "cracking 400 Rwkw With Edit" his exhaust is stated as "SMB 4 inch dump + SMB 4 inch Cat + 2x 2.5 inch pipe then back to factory centre muffler and factory rear muffler. " which is pushing a sh*t load of power. We should try and organize a group buy or kit from them to bring down the price
May 16, 200521 yr #17 I'm all for it, and I emailed the guys to ask if they made a section for retaining the standard system, but they don't.. shame.. Edited May 16, 200521 yr by XRT UTE

I will put a reminder in my outlook to email them in 4 weeks time
May 18, 200521 yr #20 Umm, forgive my ignorance, but how would the $4 broomstick "hi-flow" the cat. I had a look at mine and you have to remove the whole exhaust from back of turbo to well after the exhaust splits into two. I was wondering how one would get around this, just out of interest of corse.
