Yep my car certainly does have the edit and I don't think I would have made the 10's without it. As for whats doing what on my car regarding tuning I don't know, you'd have to ask Rob.

Firstly well done on your acheivement and being the first CAPA Edit fitted car to break into the 10 sec. I sincely hope that they pay you the $800 you are claiming they owe you.

Secondly, it's time for a reality check. It's a shame that you had to prositute Rumble so much to acheive the bragging rights.

Why do I have this OP. Is it running Edit 100% or Exede Or 50, 50 is it running as a daily driver. In short. No!!! and by your own admission you don't now, which I find hard to believe.

Modifications that I seen 2 weeks ago not fitted with Full exhaust system, not fitted with all the seats, good knows what fuel concoction or other tricks.

There's no doubt that you are the best "T" driver and possibly have the fastest "T" but I'm sorry Craig, I had more respect for you and your car when it was running 11.5 and improving by 1 tenth of a sec each time with your skill as a driver and knowing that your car was a true daily driver than what you have just acheived with just a shadow of a car. You should have gone 100% Edit and left your car in full street trim to show what Rumble was trully capable of.

Bragging Rights to you now instead of APS which is all this is really about. Is'nt it!!!

Hi Macka. I don't believe that I have "prostituted" Rumble at all. I believe that my 11.58 is the quickest full street trim XR6T. By street trim I'm using Performance Ford Mag's definition, street tyres, full exhaust and pump fuel. I feel that I can probably improve on this alittle possibly to about 11.3. The main restriction is the fuel. I decided that I'd like to go after C&V's record. After talking to Rob we decided that to do this we'd need better fuel, as most will know higher octane fuel has a bad effect on the cat. It was this reason that we removed the exhaust to protect it as I didn't want to have to replace it afterwards. As Rob believed we'd be chasing 1/100ths of a second he took the front seat out to save 25-30kg. As it turns out we could have left the seat in. We still used street tyres.

The only difference with full street trim and how it raced on Friday night was the fuel and the exhaust and front seat removed.

I've never had an oportunity before to have or be the best at something. I don't think my time will last long with a lot of cars nearing completion that have lots more power than me.

As far as the edit goes I think it's a great product and Rob's told me that withouit it the car wouldn't have been able to achieve what it has.

Hi I just thought I would put my two bobs worth in, I think the main objective of the rewards is so capa can advertise that an edited car is running tens, (good advertisement, ) and it has worked. I think Craig still has the exede in his car because of it's ability to have a higher power level at the flick of a switch,

as for Mackas comment, I think that the 11.58 is better as well, but that did not make this acomplishment any less speical. I think you will find the c/v car was not street as well, ( slicks and speical fuel and no cat ) but that was speical to at the time. Congrats Craig on your consistent ten sec runs, Sig looks good.

My view. I don’t see what the fuss is all about.

I believe the rules are very clear, without “fine print”

As long as Craig has an XR6T plus a few pictures, (post 1), has the CAPA Edit installed (with a receipt to show... post 4), he gets the prize.

He could strip the car to reduce a lot more weight, run slicks, drop the exhaust, run NOS, or use any other tuning gear. These are “free”.

ST’s post #20 “CAPA Flasher cars only” means that if you don’t have the CAPA flash, you are ineligible, and that was in response to queries about running just other ecu’s, and not the Edit.

Craig has made it quite clear that it was the Edit that enabled him to get into 10’s.

With the stock rev limit and gearing, the cars are restricted to a terminal speed of around 124mph in 3rd. The main reason that C&V got into the 10’s was because they had slicks, giving them an excellent launch (plus great drive by Vic in hot conditions).

Craig has displayed his integrity by telling us exactly what he has done, rather than hiding the truth.

The Edit is what’s required to make the difference, and it really has got Craig into the 10’s. In the end I think it’s good publicity for the Edit, and Craig deserves the prize.
