ls1 edit fyi is a grand with mafless 1200 ..about that anyway and they have nothing but a tune ..we have the box and the option to making it standard again ...if they (ls1)want to do this they have to have a standard pcm and that to cost money ..

Didn't Dynowog use Edit on a forum member's car the other day? Maybe someone could have a chat with him and see if he is interested in doing this?

I was told the american sct boxes will not work, something to do with wrong codes and pcm

why not buy a blank 'box' from CAPA??

I believe SCT has learned valuable lessons from the LS1 edit launch... software becomes public quickly..(ask any musician-mp3's), there are 7 Gen III edit programs around now.. And 5 for the Gen IIII

Sct has put an interval between the software and the EMS.... To make a few more bucks than the LS1 boys got.... Simple..... They developed it first, pay them or wait...... Software will become free, eventually.. but the boys wanted to slow down the dollars to free bit just for their work.... They have done it with the $22 part they send as an edit,....

I believe there are laws about intellectual property but tell that to file sharing sites...... And us the greedy consumers..........

Yes, I think you'll find that there would be license conditions placed on dealers to prevent this.

Like most things though, everything is possible as long as you don't get caught

Been down that track. Unless you have the Aussie software package, the tuner can't write to the US boxes - full stop.

Are you saying that IF your tuner has the CAPA/SCT Packaged Software, he can edit a US based SCT Box ??

Sorry for taking so long to reply, not on here very often.

Unless you have the specific US software, that is right, you can't tune the US supplied boxes.
