xxxr6t,

My car has a number of modification as like most people on the forum. My vehicle is two years old and ford have wiped the warranty on my driveline due to my modifications. I have no real problem with this.

My problem eventuated since my fly by wire voltage fu##ed out. They fixed that problem but while they were there they decided to put the reflash in. And here we are today 62rwkws down.

Beauies.... mate I have suffered power reduction as a consequence of a reflash 40rwkw :msm: I assume that because you know the drop in power that you had your T retuned. If not make sure you do ASAP as your AF ratios are more than likely all over the joint :msm: more than likely running as rich as buggery.

So again why should they do it to everyones car without giving notice

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't think they should do it without telling you (according to their own rules). In my case, it was mentioned when I called to book it in, and again, when I signed the form to get the work done (on the morning I dropped in into the service depot).

Did you sign a form? Any work - such as the reflash, should have been on it.

I questioned Ford about this and they have taken it seriously, apparently there is a guy called Tony from Ford who is contacting me soon to investigate further. I say we all rally together and put a stop to this. But what surprised me was how quickly Ford reacted when I questioned them about it. It would make my case stronger if some of you contact Ford also...

Ahhhh I see where the problem is now, sorry I was under the assumption your ecu hadnt been tuned. Basically what has happened is they have over-written your current tune (I assume you are using something like a CAPA flasher or similar?) and basically returned it to stock. You are exactly right about them not doing the right thing, but as far as they were concerned your car is stock and the ECU hasnt been touched. If you have lost your tune/maps due to their re-flash then you have every right to jump up and down, especially if you paid for the dyno time to get it to where you want it. If they re-flashed it without consulting you then their liability depends on a couple of things, did you inform them that the ECU has been custom tuned? If so then they should be liable for the cost of getting it back to the standard it was before they changed it. If not, then they were pretty much doing their jobs as directed by the Ford Recall of those models.

I dont suppose you have saved your edit somewhere? (do you still have it on the flash tuner?)

Whats the problem.

If you have Flashed your car with the CAPA Edit, and Ford overwrote it, then just flash it back again. :spoton:

If you have a piggyback however, its a retune from your piggyback dealer for you :gooff:

One distinct advantage of the Edit :msm: , until Ford go to flash it again someday, and see its not the version they flashed in last time :w00t2: , and then ask rude questions :w00t2:

You cant win, oh well, its how you play the game that counts :w00t2:

My after market tune is through a piggyback computer which was out of the at time of fords reflash. Another car from the same place I have my car tuned at had left his aftermarket computer in.

Both cars after the reflash ended up with the same problem lack of kws.

XXXR6T you are right as a couple of others are once this reflash is applied to the car it is running air fuels of 10.8

My car was on the dyno again this arvo for another 1.5 hours still no result in finding kws.

If anyone knows about the TSI piggyback, we have even played with clamping voltages with no result.

Nothing seems to be working.

We are not looking in the right spot for the answer.

So any ideas anybody?

HELP. I'm a journalist working for the Sunday Tele and doing a story about this XR6 overboosting recall. I've found a couple of people who have suffered it but I need a few more to speak to.

I'd also really like to hear from someone based in Sydney who could be in a photograph with their car for us.

If you can help please email at corbys@newsltd.com.au

Thanks.
