An Edit Is An Edit

just reading a few different threads and starting to get a jist of peoples reactions for the ford ba range edit both pro and cons.

just want to repeat my thoughts posted on another topic thread.

it seems that consumers have been led to beleive that one edit is going to be better than another and are holding off until the other is released. if this is the case in your situation what are you waiting FOR. ONLY THE TUNER/WORKSHOP can give you your optimum tune not different brand edits. one screwdriver cannot tune better than the other in the same tuners hand.

so if you are waiting for that magic screwdriver, marketing has worked well on you. the competion is good for price but ultimately get to know your local tuner/workshop for the best tune for your car- dosent matter which edit he feels comfortable using.

this is only the case if you pay the extra and get a custom tune. The generic tune that capa are offering are not a good prouduct in my opinion...the guys that are getting good numbers including nizpro are custom tunes ,I will be waiting to see what APS has to offer and at what price

Some good points. People may be waiting for custom tuners to become available in their area, or they fell more comfortable sticking with their current tuner and they edit they will distrubute in future.

As you say, they are all the same, so it may be best to wait for the right product to become available near you.

I agreebTBO240, I know of a car that even after doing everything suggested by the supplier the car still won't run properly. Custom tuning is the only way to go in my opinion for safe reliable power, regardless of the tuning product used.

We might be seeing people waiting because they do not like what they have seen. We all went through the "2 weeks wait" and the lack of information about pricing, performance and custom tuning of the current Edit.

I think APS will bring out a far superior product with more development and fine tuning than the current offering.

They will also train their dealers so that we will all be able to buy the same product anywhaere in Oz.

APS do not do a 1/2 arsed job when it comes to their products and this is the main reason I will wait until they have released their Edit.

I guess we will wait to see the difference and then decide.

My 2 cents.

Edit is edit, just like VCM Suite v LS1Edit v Flashscan; they all have pros and cons (well not really, except LS1Edit which is a tad old now) and at the end of the day it's not the edit, it's the idiot holding the laptop.

Edit is simply that, edit. And essentially, whereas one edit may have a few more features than an other, they are all designed to acheive the same end result. And that's a fact.

Yep and Edit is only limited by the factory ECU.

I just hope someone brings us an Edit that can change anything including non performance items, like being able to reassign the dash buttons and also being able to have the Traction control off by default.

APS edit is said will be $995. Maybe some guys want to save some money which is why they wait. A lot of guys have a lot of respect for APS as tuners which is another reason why they wait.

I agree that it will take a good tuner to get a good result from edit.

Yes this is very true David..

My Tuner doesn't do the capa edit...But will be doing the APS-EDIT

So why change my Tuner who has only ever done the right thing by me and my ute ?

So your topic "An Edit Is An Edit" maybe the case but it doesn't ring true for "A Tuner Is a Tuner"
