Check how much oil u have in... might be a bit low?

You may need to change to an oil with a thinner cold viscosity IE 5w30 instead of 10w30 for example

This will ensure the oil gets to the top end a little faster

I use mobile 1 super syn I think its 0 50w or something gold bottle $65. do u reckon its because of that? the dealer told me that oil is ok to use. in the book it says 15 40w whats oil should I use?

Hmmmm I had a similar problem in my NA XR6 so I changed from the standard fill 10w30 to a 5w30 and that has eliminated my problems but as you are already using a zero start up viscosity you cant go any thinner, only suggestions I have are to change from MOBIL 1 and find an oil with maybe a rating of 10w40 also personally I wouldnt go near MOBIL 1 but some people swear by it! horses for courses as they say

I still have the problem with my NA. Ford's answer was that it is valve train noise (it only does it between 1500 and 2000 rpm when the motor is still cold) the service manager down here says his does it as well and theres nothing they can do as its an inherent problem. If this is so then why dont they all do it??????

Apart from being embarrassing it is a worry and by the time I get it to Ford the noise has gone as the car is warm. Try an independent (trusted) mechanic and take their verdict to Ford. It might add weight to a warranty claim.

good luck with it mate.

Cheers,

Hamo

I had exactly the same thing. Lifter type noise when cold, especially if you used a few revs. Told my dealer and they put a new turbo on. Problem solved!

It could be a forunner to a buggered oil pump or the sump pickup could be restricted.
