I'm with you PSI140.

Personally, I cannot see the need for another 2 auxillary injectors for what is a moderate increase in boost really. Surely the standard injectors will flow sufficient amounts to meet 10-11 psi? But then again, they would have tested this ????????????

Oh well, it is all good times ahead that's for sure! :D

Guys, from 5psi to 11psi is more then moderate, its double!

Considering the stock injectors are at almost 100% duty cycle at stock boost, there is a need for either larger injectors or as TSI have done, extra injectors.

esky the car is running rich as is there is no need for extra injectors the air fuel ratio is 11.5 There is excess fuel already there we saw the results on the dyno so leaning it out abit to about 12.5 is still safe trust me so by upp ing the boost to about 10 psi with the standard injectors is fine and how do u know what the injectors flow anyway how can u make suc comments if u dont know .there r other ways to trick the computer anyway ...and how come with the unichip and pwerchip they dont use the extra injectors?? Or u trying to tell me the results we got on dyno day where BS. I think someone is brain washing u personally

This discussion basically comes down to can the stock injectors flow enough to adequately meet the needs at 11psi.

If they can, then you would be right. I agree that at stock boost levels (5psi) the injectors are fine. Although when the boost is more than doubled, from the limited testing I've seen the stock injectors cannot flow enough effectively.

Why not ring Herrod and APS and see what they have uncovered. I think you’ll find larger injectors going in their kits.

I must admit I would've thought that all the stuff from TSI would net more than a 33% increase in power considering Ford were apparently seeing 300KW with "boost spike" testing!309Kw seems possible

The Chiptorque car made 310RwHp at the Ford and Expensive Daewoo day in Brisbane.

That would be about right as rwhp generally equates to fwkw.

I dont really know much about power chips and their effects on cars engines, but wasnt there some concern about the thickness of the cylinder walls in our engines , wouldnt a increase in boost shorten the life of the engine. I love the sound of 310kw but I am concerned about things breaking more often. and didn't unichip acheive 270rwkw from only increasing the boost by 2 psi...

can someone with a engineering backgroud explain how unichip got these figures from their low boost kit...

The answer to all these questions lays in one question. Did ford engineer this engine top to bottom to perform at it's on paper potential (injector size, turbo, fuel pump, etc) and then use the ECU to torque limit it? (In which case the first mod is obviously to "unclip" the torque curve) or did they build all the ancillaries around the engine's retarded potential?
