cheap interiors

Hi all, I am currently researching new vehicles and was particularly interested in the xr6t until a recent trip to the local ford dealer. It would have to be one of the toughest looking 20 metre cars around but the closer I got...... Completely dissapointed with the build quality especially the interior, cheap plastics poorly finished and they didnt even line up! I could accept this to a degree in anything at $13990 driveaway, but come on, at what is the best part of fifty gee gee's the argument becomes alittle fragile. Anyone sat in a Lberty GT lately? Im still undecided, any thoughts? Will you be upgrading or changing brands?

You dont get a smile on your face untill you buy one (XR6T), then for the few little let downs, they soon disappear when you put the foot down.

Best car I've had, so good I'm on my second already. Its no BMW or Mercedes, but it didn't cost $150,000 either.

I'm very happy with the build quality and the finish. If you don't like it don't buy it. That being the case go and post on the Liberty forum and tell them how wonderful your new car is rather than posting here and telling us you think are cars are crap.

The BA has an excellent, modern, well finished interior,

it makes my dads has a 2002 outback and interor look like crap. I think you have no idea what you are talking about.

Geea, I was looking for some insight before handing any of my hard earned money over. The Liberty was for pure price relativity nothing else! Just dissapointed after all the hype. Everything you read suggest's that they are a fantastic option, I guess im not one eyed or bias towards brands.

If your intentions were noble I apoligise. We get a lot of wankers that come on here post a few times bag our cars then piss off. If this isn't you, that's great.

The BA XR6T is a fantastic car for what it is. Its a $50k family sports car that is probably the leader in its class. Like all mass produced items there are some with faults but the majority are great. It is also built to a price. If you have a look at a "T" with the leather and premium sound (or luxury pack) I think you'll be more impressed. The power is great and easily moddable to beat most things on the road. The suspension is good and again easily moddable to suit your own personal tastes. Being part of a large selling range of cars there are many options in the after market to make your car as individual as you are. It is also a fine car when left stock.

I don't think it is any secret that new falcons and commodores have crap build quality when compared to japanese cars like the liberty. A mate has an 04 Liberty GT and about the only thing that the Falcon has over it on the interior is the Premium ICC. Everything else in the Liberty simply oozes quality.

Start them up and take them for a drive and things are put into perspective. The Turbo transforms the Falcon into a Performance Car, whereas the Liberty Turbo is now able to keep up with traffic.

You get what you pay for either way.
