MRC Dyno and Performance just fitted my mates new exhaust system to his stock XR6 Turbo ute. The result has seen 47kw ATW increase with the addition of a 3.5" exhaust with custom dump pipe.

I will post up the dyno sheets shortly to so the before and after results

I got there just after lunch, about 1 pm I think, so most of the cars had run and got some good numbers,

Very laid back affair with no product promotions that I saw, guys there were very fothcoming with infomation about mods and developments they have done.

My new ute (4000km) Auto with a home made CAI and a K&N fitted, ran 199.3 rwkw, was using optimax fuel (either that or BP98, I cant remember).

I got to see a phantom manual turbo ute with minimal mods run 333.9 rwkw ( I think, give or take 1-2 rwkw), very nice car with well done mods, I imagine a beast on the road too.

Thanks to who organized it, I got alot of insight on what works and what doesnt without being sold a product or service.

:nono:

I will be at the next one as I had my center muffler removed today. I cant wait.

I think people must have bad memories

45kw was a big claim and they said they was going to back it up at the dyno day

Looking at the numbers they do seem a little high for stock turbos. Most seemed around the 200rwkw mark which is very high for an auto.

No mention of Zorst but as I said, I got there well after lunch when nearly if not all had run. There was an exhaust on the Ute that did the 333 rwkw, 3.5" mandrel with high flow cat etc and was claimed good for 40rwkw, I got there late so I didnt see any testing but was told by several it was true? the exhaust was a CES (custom exhaust systems) out of Brisbane I think.

The owner of the ute said it was the first mod done and was good for 40rwkw but suffered overboost probs with no comp (piggyback) fitted, which makes sense.

Please dont flame me to hard if I get the number wrong, I was in a bit of a rush and spoke to several blokes about several different mods.

One of the "stock", (K&N only) auto sedans I believe had done 198 rwkw elswhere and it did 203rwkw with 102 oct fuel, so the number seem preety close, this car has done a 13.9 @103mph stock, so it appears to be a good one.

no that's fine

just there was a thread about it and no follow up

would be good if someone was there earlier with some info

this is from memory

My auto ute was the lowest of the day 4000km on clock K&N, CAI 199.3 rwkw

on optimax fuel.

freinds auto sedan with 20k approx on clock K&N 203 rwkw on 102 octane fuel

car has previously run 197rwkw but I am unsure of fuel on that run.

several toher "stock" auto's ran 200-202 rwkw, all on Hi octane fuel.

then there were moded cars but I cant remember mods so I wont go there.

Being one of the morning dyno consumers, it was an interesting time. I was quite surprised that my "Black Beast" broke the 200rwkw barrier as everyone was expecting ~190rwkw. When a couple of us all hit ~200rwkw, the MRC guys threw on the "blue ute" to make sure their system was calibrated properly (ran ~290 as expected).

Anyway, I'm happy. She's been run in nicely, hence the boost output is very smooth throughout the acceleration up to 200km/h (will post my power graph tonight). Got a nice baseline to go from whenever I decide to start "fooling around" with some mods.

Thanks to the MRC guys for taking lots of time to explain the intricate parts to their dyno setup. Way cool! :nono:
