But if you closely look at the auction, in alot of cases noone is bidding (like actually putting up their hands), but the auctioneer is going thru the motions that someone is bidding hoping that someone will bite at the right time. Also friends/family bidding scam happens alot. This has been a huge driver in pushing prices up and has been outlawed is some places but should be treated as a criminal offence. You will notice when an unreserved car comes up for auction that the real bidding starts.Auctions in general can be easily scammed

The seller had only joined eBay a couple of days before listing the car for sale and in the ad he asked people to send questions direct to his Yahoo email.
