Hi Guys,

My car is having trouble just wanted to see what your thoughts are. Whats the Problem? This has happened twice now and I've booked it into the dealer for next tuesday. Whilst cruising along at about 70kph I put my foot down and at about 3000rpm I lose acceleration there is a big rumble. If I slow down the car seems like its gonna stall if I try to keep pushing through it struggles for a bit and then regains power. Whats Going On Any Thoughts Suggestions would be appreciated. I've Done 6000km in the beast.

Cheers

Blacknight,

Clould be over boost cut out. If the computer see's a higher than expected boost it will cut three injectors. I believe the way to get power back is by giving full acceleration back off then full acceleration again. Lachlan from Chiptorche (LOK@ChipTorque) told me how he can tell you exactly what to do.

As I mentioned in another post, with similar intermittent concerns, I sent an email to my Service Adviser which contained the following:

"Check and clear fault codes in addition to ensuring that the engine management system is OK, which includes:

· Check that “C” connectors on original PCM are plugged in correctly.

· Check that wastegate control solenoid is connected securely.

· Check for sticky swing valve in turbo housing.

· Check that the bleed solenoid is not partially blocked.

· Check “OC” valve sensors that go into cam caps.

· Check vacuum lines.

· Check ALL hosing and connections.

· Check and/or clean and/or replace throttle body.

Please ensure that all these checks are made. On pickup of the vehicle, please provide in WRITING an assurance that all the above checks have been made, including mention of any replacements."

I know this is a shotgun approach though.. *touch wood* ..since then I have not experienced any more intermittent gremlins. Hope this helps in some way. :yikes:

Sounds like the car is over boosting and going into limp home mode. Mine's done it too.

I turned ignition off, turned it back on, and all is rosy.

I got exactly the same problem with mine, did the above fix it?

Chris, even after a few thousand kilometres, still no intermittent gremlins here.. *touch wood*

Cheers, Dr Z.
