Well done mondie, pleased for ya.

Psssst.........mondie mate.........now I know you have been through a stressful time but as you know this is a turbo forum so could you please stop calling 'bloodnut' a POS, even if you have to handle the truth very carelessly us GT owners will understand. ;)

Get the underdrives mate by all means, cheapest 'bang for buck' bolt-on power improvement you can get, but be warned your pressure plate might object. :gooff:

 POS seemed appropriate at the time, you could hear him dying on the phone. He had only been back at work an hour when he called and probably wasnt expecting such a negartive call. Full kudos to him though, he got things sorted in 5 mins

Yeah l am probebly taking a chance with the underdrives but it seems its luck of the draw as to what clutch your car has and if you will be affected. its a chance l am willing to take if l go ahead with some mods.

Must be the time for it, got a call from my dealer today with the replacement diff and they want to get it in before the end of the financial year - so little turby goes under the knife tomorrow.

Everything is crossed, not just the fingers, hopefully it will not be the first of many replacements.

Trent.

So, what's the secret in getting a "high grade" diff ?

I have a diff on order through my local dealer (due to whine between 80 - 100 kmh) - and they don't have a clue...

All they know is how to order it through their "intranet" - who do they call to organise a decent diff ?

(I've already been stiffed once by a Ford replacement diff in my Series I AU XR6, I'm NOT going to let them do it to me again... )

Thanks Guys, yes l am feeling a lot better about Ford in general :spoton:

Twinxrs > The service manager told me there is a revised bearing design now being installed as a part of the tighter tolerance diff so both issues should be addressed. Tell your service (mis)manager to call Chad, the service manager at New Oak Ford in Melbourne to find out the real story.
