I haven't bothered yet..

Will get to it in-time. May have to relocate the leads or use cabling with better sheilding?

I remember using some sort of sheilding for the wires yrs ago, it was aluminium made in some type of duct tape...is that the one?

I did custom car audio installations for 5 years. 90% of all engine noise is due to poor earthing. Another cause is running a high voltage power lead/source beside your RCA leads. This is why good installers run all power supplies for amplifier down the right hand side of the car and RCA's down the left. This is done so you keep you signal as far away as possible from any power sources eg:- brake, blinker wires. Simply run your earth under the bottom of the rear seat. Drill a 1/8 hole, sand away paint ant scew down earth. Paint over when attached. Another cause is difference is potential (resistance) in the earth when running multiple amplifiers. To rectify this just earth all amps at the same point. Is is also good practice to uprage the earth from the battery to the chassis. Good luck guys. hope that this helps
