Hey how often do you wash the silouhette?

Glenn, was once a week...getting sloppy though, once a fortnight now...water restrictions in Sydney are a biatch!

Doesnt mater what my colour of car is or has been I still wash it once a week so there's no difference for me,now I think about it iv'e wash my car more times than I wash my kids :locked:

I now take mine to the local car wash... for $20 they pump it through the actual carwash... then two teenagers spend about 30mins cleaning the mags, seats, carpets, interior windows and the like... not bad for $20.. If im broke I'll do it myself

I got the protection for my preciouusss ...yuppo there was the hot blonde who sold it to me....but I was gunna made her work for her sale...we went walking around the lot so I could see the difference between 2 cars that did and didnt have it and how they looked after a few months of 'wear and tear'

They had a silohette there that didnt have it and a silohette that did and u could definately see the difference. :o

It was quite a noticable difference - u could see the swirl marks in the paint from just general cleaning.

Plus the fact that I'm doing dirt roads in mine every coupla weeks would rip the paint to shreds and only multiply those swirl marks a million times....I've cleaned my preciousssss every time from coming back from the farm and she always comes up as good as the day I bought her.

The protection isnt just wiped on either...it was 'heat sealed' on apparantly. I badgered her with a whole heapa questions about what I've heard (all taken from the forums) and she said yup - that's what some dealers do and then she took me through step by step how they apply it. The machines that they use were all 'ford' logo'd.

They also had a shed with the fluro's set up so they could see the imperfections in the paint work - which they fixed up before they applied the protection. :o

When I got her there isnt 1 flaw in the paint anywhre I can find...and I've looked all over the car. :o

...well.....it was enouh to convinced me to get it anyway.

Sounds like enough to convince me voy - had some bad experience with other stuff before - but was ming on the ghia - worthless - so mad that assumption with this stuff - will revisit now.

Yeah the waiting sucks, can't sleep...............gonna be damn tired by the time it gets here! :o

My current car has the ming protection and the paint still looks perfect, not a swirl in sight, but if someone leans on it with a watch or the Mrs forgets about her bracelet it can be a real pain getting surface scratches out.

You can't use cut & polish or even any of the higher brand waxes (auto glym, meguires etc) you have to use the MING surface restorer which is more like water than wax.

In saying that, the water still beads, the paint is still smooth (the just waxed feel) and the car just had its first birthday and gets washed every week.

So if anyone else is considering getting on their new car just make sure you screw em down, the chick I dealt with started at over $1500.00 for tint, paint and interior protection and before I left was already under $1k.

I know the whole point of MING is so you don't have to polish the car, but what if I want to? What can you use? I have used Maguire's Wet Look on my previous cars...???

Ok.........

If you follow the guide you get if & when you have your car treated with the MING pack, you are only supposed to wash it with the MING car wash and if you should ever need to remove a surface scratch you'll have to buy the MING "surface renewer" which is the MING equiv. to polish. that's if you can find a dealer who even sells it! I live in Brisbane and have only been able to find one place who will sell it to the public.

u need to get them to show u how the apply it ...and if its not up to snuff...just go else where....

I got mine form Jarvis and am very impressed with it. I was tossing up for months whether or not to get it....I decided 1 day to not to get it....then 2 get it....eventually I decided I want to keep the paint in mint conditoin as long as possible. Theres always things that they'll try and sell u ...if youre not convinced about it then just ask a whole heapa questions and compare it to what people on here are saying.
