  1. The whole heads getting re done, I’ve sourced a low k na head so I’ll need new exhaust valaves . Happy with keeping it with Stock ford ones but they are close to $100 each , or xr6t development sell a set for a couple hundred.
  2. Chasing a new set of exhaust valves for my new head . What is a good aftermarket brand to suit my turbo application in my Barra .
  3. Need some knowledge. I’ve got a 2005 bf turbo , im looking at changing the cylinder head to an fg head . My question is , will my stock bf intake manifold and turbo manifold bolt straight on ? Are the heights the same as bf ? Or do they need to be modified. Cheers
  4. I’m in the process of finding a new cylinder head for my barra build. Ive got a turbo bf head which my builder said is to badly worn . my question is are all the cylinder heads from Na to turbo the same ?? I know the valves are different in the turbos . But are the castings the same ? My damaged turbo head casting numbers are - 3r23 - 6090- ac and I’ve just gotten a low k bf gas cylinder head with the same casting numbers - 3r23 - 6090- ac , the only thing that looks different with the two side by side is the turbo one has a cross / X pattern shape on the front of the alloy casting where the Na one is just smooth . Are the Na heads fine to use on a turbo application with upgrading the valves and valve springs of course .
  5. I’m not going stupid with power but want to build it right . Don’t like short cuts . I’ve sourced 2 blocks from the wreckers from na gas motors so fingers crossed ones good. so what part actually wears jeturbo?? ? I thought some might not get made as thick / as much internal thickness
  6. Thanks K31th , I’ve read somewhere 1 in 5 blocks would be under thickness …
  7. can anyone enlighten me on the factory Barra blocks and why they vary in thickness? I've had my engine builder come back and say the block I supplied is to thin (2011 fg block 110,000ks) he said its pretty common. I do have another bf block in my shed but she's done well over 300,000ks ... is it worth pulling a block from a wreck with low ks or does the ks even matter is its going to get machined and honed ect?/ cheers
  8. Pm sent jeturbo . Just getting everything sorted atm . Found a low k fg block with the 2 dipstick holes my cars a bf so I’ll be using the front . Changed the sump , girdle and oil pick up 👌 . I was told by my tuner to find a low k fg motor and not a bf ? The blocks are identical so was a little confused 🤔
  9. whats your cost for those jeturbo???
  10. im leaning towards the nitto range with the I beam.. I got a pretty good deal on ditto just seeing if they are the old JE stock or the new CP nitto range. the bloke at nitto said they have changed to cp and not je anymore . the je nitto range was still good he said.. has anyone noticed any difference in the atomic rods with the pressure fed gudgeon gallery ?
  11. Hey all , I'm in the process of doing my first engine build on my Barra 6 , I'm tossing up between Atomic Superleggera conrods atomic icon forged pistons or nitto / cp forged pisons and rods .. both are in my budget and I've head good things about both. the atomic gear is a bit cheaper , and differences in H an I beam for choice ? looking to reach around the 550 - 600 rwkw power.
  12. Can you do this without removing the engine from the car ?
  13. Would a bf f6 engine still be better than the Fg xr6t or no?
  14. Are the bf f6 engines identical internals to the Fg xr6t engines also ? Same pistons
  15. Sorry I must have read it wrong , 11.527 @ 129mph
  16. I’ve been doing some research on the Fg and the fgx turbo engine . are these the same engines internally ? Or is the fgx slightly better ? Can’t seem to find any information
  17. I ran 11.350. In by bf 6 speed manual , 380rwkw 134mph
  18. Hey all , I’m chasing a new second hand motor to go into my Bf f6 , I’ve found a low ks 90,000 bf f6 engine for a good price . or a 2013 Fg xr6 turbo engine with about 110,000ks . These are the same engine expect the sump and rocker cover correct ?
  19. The car Was doing this just before the turbo went .
  20. Is there a way of checking the cooling system ?? The turbo oil return line to sump was blocked , small pin hole which Was what caused the turbo to fail I’m guessing . The previous owner may have not looked after her / regular oil changes ect I’m guessing .
  21. I’ve just installed a new turbo on my 2006 bf xr6 turbo , Same stock turbo no mods , my old turbo bearings sh*t itself . Installed the new app turbo , the car runs fine now , however after about 10 minutes of driving the car will start to idle real rough almost like it’s going to run out of fuel.. if I let it sit and rest for a bit it’s fine but then will do the same process . Would this be a coil / spark plug issue ? I’ve changed the oil , oil filter fuel filter . Next will be the coils and plugs . Anyone had this issue
