@xr6Twolf Definitely go with the C63! they sound way better, better equipment and all the things you have suggested. As much as I love my Xr6 Turbo the demise of the falcon and poor after sales / service by ford have put me off - We have a Golf R32 at home, they VW people know how to look after you always talk to you if you go into the showroom, send emails telling you about new cars, my car is serviced properly the list goes on. (Coming from a ford family of 45+ years) Try the M3 sedan, Audi S4/RS4 or even look at the ISf lexus?

I've got a r32 golf. and the sound is AMAZING and the grip! You can do a lot more fun things in these small cars around corners than our Xr6 turbos!

I will keep that Tail shaft loops in mind - I probably wont look for MASS power - just 300 at the wheels! haha With my old car - I ordered one of the JL audio 8in subs, but the place was out of stock. they offered me this DD sub in 8in for a little bit more money, boxed so I took it. I removed the old PIECE of ish and have it sitting in behind my seats. it went pretty hard, and I disconnected the rear speakers for now. when I brought the 07, (I had taken out all my video / audio gear out before I traded in the 04) I was wondering where the sub noise was? the dealer had disconnected it cause it was F'd BIG time, probably should have hit them up about it but couldn't be bothered tad annoyed though. but ahh well pulled it out put the DD in and it works a treat. Indeed I know what you mean, the only people who are allowed to abuse it are the people who PAY for it right?!

@Rhino1980 pretty sure the roadpacer came out in like 1975.....and its now 2012. I haven't driven the 2L yet so I can't tell if it will be good or not. Please if you drive it soon let me know your opinion. no an SR20DET wouldn't be right in a falcon or commodore, but a few nissan guys do convert there RB20 skylines / laurels and cefiros to SR20 DETs (all which are heavy big cars) @TAB - agree with you completely. It is for the fleet buyer. Its not for the big block hoon, however, it could be a refreshing if someone did go and tune one up to be different.

@hypnodoc, Of course if I wanted a modern 4, I would not buy a xt falcon. It would be a jap or euro. But I think the point of the 4cyl falcon is aimed at people who need a LARGE car with good economy. They haven't made all of the falcons 4 cyl (which is a good thing) as I love my inline 6 and I will HATE the day they do. Who knows how long the Aussie falcon will last, with all the corporate BS that goes on and making one platform ie taurus, but I do love my falcon(s). Another engine option is pretty cool man! To save the "big cars" what needs to happen is the cost of petrol needs to come down - but that's a completely different story. PS Another point is that, a fully tuned xt sleeper with hubcaps would be an ideal car.

I don't know why you guys are bagging it so much? It has more power than the 5L windsors that came out in the AU1 (approx 175kw?), more power than a 4.0L of pretty much all the nineties and early 00s (157kw) We have an AU wagon that still hauls when need be, yeah its not the quickest car out there but its not meant to be, and neither is this 2.0L-t. However, with some tuning and add ons, it could be a very capable car. As a standard car, it will most likely rip a 3,0 commodore, capacity aint everything - think Miami which is a 5.0 donk compared to a 6.2 LS?? All the euro's are going small capacity also now - the S line and even the RS line audis have shrunk, the M5 motor has dropped two cylinders. Not trying to offend any of you here, but you may need a walk up call to technology.

So I was wondering with the introduction of the new 2L ecoboost engine in the falcon, has anyone thought to tune it like we all do to our large capacity cars? Its the new motor that will be in the focus ST when it comes out right? I reckon it would have some pretty sweet gains. My other idea - retro fit the xt-t into a mk5 cortina!

@ FOONIN Exactly - Do it once and do it right! Torque do have a good name so it will probably be them. Won't have to factor travel into the cost either! You guys are lucky plenty of CHCH boys on the forum. Not many active ones up here. @RIPTIDE What colour are you and rims? Might have seen you around?

@FOONIN, Mate, probably going to get Torque performance or IPV in Taupo to do it, know if they are all good? Will get the cooler, injectors and exhaust done all at the same time. There is another place that I will never take my car to as my valve spring replacement made my engine even worse (unmentioned)

YO, Auckland, West. OLD ride = 04 BA xr6 turbo - lightening strike, 19 G6E rims, DJR spoiler, slammed on its guts. NEW ride = 07 BFii xr6 turbo - conquer, 19 DTMs, no spoiler, standard ride height - will tune this one!

I think the D1NZ guy here in the commy runs a RB26 aye. Someone needs to run a Barra in the drift circuits. Does anyone in OZ? well besides that DRIF6 thing that FPV did.

Cheers for the replies, I totally want to mod this one, just a slight tune get up to 300kws that will suffice I think! It is a total winner this one, wanted leather but you can't get everything - and ford leather aint the best compared to our VWs at home which are a bit older and the leather lasts way better.
