  1. Got home and the car was cooked. Pics if I can work it out.
  2. Own a nissan or 2. Can confirm. Bread is baked.
  3. If anything I've become more aware and protective of kids since becoming a parent. I guess not everyone considers the possible consequences of their seemingly innocuous actions. I know the feeling with 4x4s though. It's like little things like footpaths and medians are just a minor inconvenience.

    Fuel

    Don't use 95. Use 98.
  5. Lol for anyone else, not you Rab, who doesn't want to google it, the basic principle is keeping the intake valve open for a period of time during the compression cycle to reduce the compression therefore reducing load on the engine making it more efficient. It's quite easy to turn a engine by hand with the plugs out but difficult or impossible in some cases with the plugs in. Easier to turn means less fuel needed to overcome the cylinder pressure. Potato version: Use less fuel when cruising.
  6. Witches hats is a great idea. I had thought about parking a few of my cars there but that might result in a parking ticket as it is a no standing (?) zone at school times. Funnily enough it has been the 4x4's that are the worst. Yesterday a lady drove right up the footpath in her 4x4 and was only a foot from the fence. Due to our location a lot of people have a 4x4 though.
  7. Ay so I was just reading some stuff about atkinson cycle engine operation and I wondered if we could implement this on our cars? We have access to cam tuning and obviously we can have custom cams made. I haven't done any maths at this point so I can't confirm if it would work and there are a multitude of reasons why it may not work. Surely I'm not the only person to consider this, has anyone put some time and thought into seeing if it could work?
  8. I blocked the inside of the stock hoses so it looks stock but is blocked. Say that ten times fast.
  9. Here's my 2 cents fwiw. I've tuned my car (gtx modded 3582) so I can stall it up on the brake, so if I was racing from lights then turbo size is irrelevant for me at least. As for using the turbo to it's full potential, I have it turned up to an appropriate level for my current hardware limitations. It still has a bit left in it. It also helps that I live in the sticks with higher speed zones so I can floor it safely and legally every time I go for a drive. I prefer a bigger turbo so I can have more power. Each to his or her own I say.
  10. What pissed me off today was parents doing u turns on the footpath at the school entrance where my son goes. Despite myself as well as other parents asking the school to address the problem by communicating the issue to the offending parties the response has so far been lacklustre. I've mentioned it to the council and they are considering some form of traffic control. Just drive up the street and do it somewhere safe, not right at the entrance where there are children entering the school!!! See, I didn't even swear once. /rant
  11. Racing car drivers need a start somewhere.
  12. If I win the lotto it'll be in the post along with a pair of boots for when you're outside cooking.
  13. This will drive any parent mad. Fortunately the 2 I bought stopped working after a while. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AS111-Clown-Horn-Harpo-Circus-Party-Costume-Music-Jester-Toy-Accessory-/380870495355?hash=item58ada68c7b:g:Yq8AAOSwwPhWljPm
  14. I'll add you to my Xmas list.
  15. So who else's kids say "ni night, bum" when they go to bed?
  16. No worries mate I'll add them as my signature. So how does it feel to be a puffwagon?
  17. On a different topic I tried launching my car from a dig yesterday. I stalled it up in 2nd but the rear tyres spun when it hit 10 psi so I just let off the brake, clicked it into 3rd and let it do it's thing. My poor tyres
  18. Ay so I can't edit the preggers post even though it has my profile next to it. Weird man.
  19. My missus is from Tassie so she's immune from the cold. Last summer she couldn't even go outside when it was over 45, she almost fainted after 10 minutes.
  20. Maybe I should just post my name and address and credit card info to make it easy for the next person logged in as me.
  21. Exactly Stubbie
  22. Hey folks it's been a little while. WMMFG today? It's my 5th year marriage anniversary today. The wife has gone to bed early, as pregnant people do, so I thought I'd share with you guys. I also made it through 3 months of gym work without injuring myself which is great! Being married is like tuning a car. If you do it right then it should last forever.
  23. Backs are bastards. Mine hurts for a good 15 minutes when I'm warming up. It feels like something's wrong and then the pain vanishes. Funnily enough my back get sore from not working out rather than deadlifting or squatting etc. I guess that is the difference between 25 and 35 years old. Goddamnit, I'm almost 50...fark I'm almost 80...sh*t I'm almost dead... It's like 50k or something?! I was all like yeah I'm getting one, then I was like oh no I'm not.
  24. It's all good. I couldn't bench my way out of a paper bag at the moment. You are only improving yourself so that's all that matters.
