Hi all Long time no see, been a while since I have been on the forum! Again I find myself in the gearbox conundrum... BA XR6T that makes decent power and gives the BTR gearboxes a hard time. Wondering does anyone have any info/insights/experience with yarra valley automatics yrt482mt transmission? JETFPV has been great and has given me lots of info on his experience with the gearbox in his old car, he has given the gearbox a huge wrap. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the conversion? I'm surprised I haven't been able to find more cars with it done (instead of c4s or t400s). Cheers

Thanks INFLYT. Protrans are the guys that built the box first time around. Then replaced the planetary gears a couple of weeks after. I will definitely call them to suss out what they think, as they seem like genuine guys. Just wondering what my options are... I should call them for an up to date quote but when I spoke to them about a year ago I think it was close to the 4500 mark...

My car has been tuned and built by Autotech minus the gearbox. While my motor was getting run in on a sedate tune I took the box elsewhere to get built. I liked the sound of Dominello but were quite exxy compared to places in Melbourne etc. From the moment I picked up the car from the gearbox place it took forever to engage reverse and wasn't quite right shifting in to third, Spiro mentioned the 3rd gear issue aswell. About 2 weeks of driving later gearbox is clunking and goes back to the gearbox place with rooted planetary gears... Spiro has spent a lot of time tuning these cars, and spent a sh*tload of time on mine over the last few years so I'm more than confident with his ability, it's just a shame he doesn't build gearboxes in house! Surely there's some other place in NSW that are decent?

Hey guys, After my last visit to the drags a few months ago and causing some dramas to my auto gearbox, I've had a break from the car and the forums, but now I'm thinking about fixing her so I'm back. I had the box rebuilt by a recommended shop in Sydney, had to go back a couple of times to get it sorted, not sure if I was totally happy with it, and considering the car had done less than 8000ish kms with the box, not too sure if I should be going back. So who's is everyone using and recommending nowadays? By the way I can still drive the car I just can't flat shift into second as it just slips... So probably bands? Cheers

I headed out and ran a PB of 11.5 at 125mph but that was with my gearbox slipping and hitting rev limit in 1st and 2nd. Damn rebuilt POS fourspeed! hahaha it's sweet on the street though! Car makes the power to run low 11s and I had a best 60ft time of 1.75 but the box just slipped the whole way through 2nd gear........ not good!

I've tested a Gtech Pro on the quarter mile and they were really really close. The Gtech said it was a tiny little bit quicker than what I actually ran. Not sure about the power estimate though.

I used to be one of the guys that used to think how hard can it be to run a quick time. Just launch the car and keep it flat. Easy. But after my first time at the drags I know it's not that easy and as headsex has said he needs some more practice with the car to get it to launch properly. I think I'll join that club, 2sec 60fts for an 11.6 at 126mph just don't cut it!!!! I'm sure if your motor holds up and you get the perfect run you might just get there! good job.

Blu-Ray has won the war they're now just fine tuning the format.... So you might want to hold off on a player for a little while, or just get a PS3 as it can update over your internet connection. I have never seen an LCD that has made me go 'wow' but I have seen a couple of plasmas that look the goods. Although you cant beat old school CRTs You can't go wrong with the Three P's. Panasonic or Pioneer Plasmas. As for the Beta thing that has happened to HD DVD and that was mainly due to Blu-Ray I guess. So I reckon Blu-Ray is around to stay.

Congrats mate. Nice power. I think fourth is the norm for the 6 speeds and obviously 3rd for the 4 speeds.

hahahaha yeah you should go it's good fun! It was my first time driving a car down the track. I know I can go faster so I'll probably go again in the not too distant future. Not sure about anyone else on the forums though...

Thought I would add my first outing to the list. 4sp auto 375rwkws 126mph 2.0 sixty foot ET: 11.6 Wasn't happy with my launch or shifts so there should be a bit more in her.

I was there. It's lightning strike mate!!! Best I could do was an 11.6 at 126mph. The car definately has more in it. I just couldn't get a decent launch and wasn't happy with my shifts.
