That would still be a BA though wouldn't it?
-
Don't worry mate I was thinking along the same lines when I read the first post.
-
good write up so far

I have been offered 27, 27, 28.5 and 29 for mine, as listed in my sig with 11,000kms on it.

I went in there in person to tell them what I wanted but when I was in there it was right at the time when ford restructured the price's so they didn't really know what was going on. After about 15 minutes of him looking through books with a confused look on his face I said how about you give me a ring when you sort yourself out and then fax me through the quote, to which he happily agreed. Never heard from him again. This isn't a big city dealership either so I was quite surprised by there lack of interest as I'm sure the DP will be as well.

Some dealers are just wankers, about 2 weeks ago I was getting prices on a territory and I went into one dealership who I had got prices off before and found them to be good to deal with so I though I'd give them a shot. Told them exactly what I wanted and when they found out I wasn't from the immediate area they told me to get a price off my local dealer and bring it back and they will see if they can beat it. I told them that I'm not into this whole back and forwards crap and he would get one chance to give me his best price straight up and if it was the best I would get it from them, simple as that. The wa*ker didn't even ring me back. I have meet the DP at this particular dealership before and he seems like a really good bloke so have a guess who I'll be visiting to show off my new car

Also don't forget that this same old bias stuff gets trotted out every time there is a test that's not favorable to ford and yet when orion is launched and it's wiping the floor with the VE in the press just like the BA did when it launched and all the ford fans will become strangely silent about perceived bias.
-
Can't say I'm holding out much hope of the last of the I6's in the orion being much good either. Given fords brilliant quality control as a base to work off I'm sure that will now improve out of site given that the people that will be building the engines have all been told there getting sacked

Progress Update: How Is BCL's Car Going?
JBomb3000 replied to PASHEN's topic in Member Rides & Builds
Any more thoughts on what your going to do next Brian? -
Mmm, maximum torque at 4500 RPM, f*ck you ford I might as well buy a f*cking 380
-
Are they doing it on territory's this time as well? When I bought mine you could get it on territory and focus as well. All the N/A XR6's are gone as well now, it's only on falcon this time for some reason.

Triple J's, Live At The Wireless From The Vaults 1. Great compilation with the highlight being a fantastic track from the cure.

Yeah HID's are awesome, we have the $2800 factory HID light package on one of our John Deere tractors and it's brilliant. As hard I found this to believe at the time when we ordered it they are worth every cent.

I was wondering how long it would be until you started spewing out your usual crap

I had a look at it on the weekend and thought it was bloody excellent

Well it will be about 2 weeks before I find out for sure if I will need to trade to something with a little more ground clearance. If I were to pick one at the minute I would go for the terri the best value and most practical of everything I have looked at so far. The dodge looks awesome and has a fantastic engine and tranny but a crappy interior. The outback is extremely well built but the motor lacks torque down low and the auto is "stupid". I didn't even drive the captiva, no way I could live with it. On the trade in prices I know change over is the only figure that matters but the best price I have on a terri is $8000 below the RRP and that's with 27 for the trade in so you could hardly say they have loaded the price of the trade against the new one.

Since my last post I have driven an AWD and RWD terri, H6 Outback and a Diesel Dodge Nitro. Got quotes from 2 ford dealers on terri's and both offered me 27 for my car, Subaru 29 on a outback and Dodge 28.5 on a Nirto. It's a bit depressing when 2 ford dealers offer you less for your car than opposition brands. Overall experience was very different at the subaru and dodge dealers compared to ford. My local ford dealers were no drama, went and told them what I wanted got the price no bullsh*t or carry on. Ford dealer number 2 was a much bigger dealership and they tried all the usually tricks, the salesman really tried to put the pressure on telling me how his wife has a terri and loves it blah blah blah, then after seeing the outback brochure on the front seat of my car admitted when his boss was out of earshot the his wife actually drives a forester what a wa*ker. Probably my favorite ploy was when we was doing the quote he acted like he was having problem with his computer then after a while gets on the phone to his boss saying he needs him to come down because the computer system was saying he couldn't issue the quote without his supervisors approval as it was bellow their cost. Gotta give the guy points for trying though, but in the end they were comprehensively beaten by my local dealer anyway. I was accompanied both times when I test drove both terri versions. Subaru didn't have a H6 spec outback for me to drive so within 2 hours they had organised a customers car for me to drive. The guy came with me seeing as it was a customers car which is fair enough. Didn't seem to know a hell of alot about the car but he was a nice guy, didn't try and give me the pressure sell. When I told him about aspects of the outback I wasn't wrapped with in comparison to other brands he didn't rubbish the other cars I was talking about (unlike ford dealer number 2) but just tried to talk up the positive aspects of the outback. When it came to getting a price it was very different to what I'm normally used to it was pretty much well this is the RRP and this is what we can do it for, and this is what we will give you for your car. Take it or leave it. While initially I though this was a bit odd but no doubt it's this type of pricing that is part of the reason ford and Holden's re sale is in the toilet while Subaru is not. Dodge were very similar to Subaru, let me take both cars for a test drive by myself and once again the salesman was not overly knowledgeable but a nice guy and never put any pressure on. They went even one step up further than than Subaru with the price, not even giving me a written quote saying it was against company policy. All I walked away with was a total figure for change over and an no trade price, they guy even went as far as saying that I just need to decide if the car suits me, the timing suits me and the price suits me. 4 different dealers and 4 very different experiences, maybe ford should take a leaf form Subaru and doge and instead of letting dealers compete with each other and trashing re sale in the process

My sister has just bought a 2004 magna and I have heard that Falcon wheels from AU on will bolt straight up, correct offsets and stud pattern right of the bat. Anyone know if this is correct?
