  1. Hey Adam here's some pix of an Xr6T with 20's on it - these are Fatturbo's old wheels actually. Hey Danny you mentioned you fit 255's at the rears - do the Nitto's come in that size and are they $320 each as well? The 225 Nankraps on the back have worn out now...
  2. I reckon option D is the go. I would buy one if it was offered in a black carbon fibre weave - that would be HORN

Agreed - I launched at 2500 last night (have a hi stall) and went up in smoke. So plenty of power at those revs. You'll need sticky tyres...

If you're talking about spooling up while stationary on the start line, the solution to this is to change the torque converter to a "hi stall". This lets you rev to higher revs while stationary thus building more boost to take off with. Have a look for "Dominator" hi stalls on the net.
  5. Yeah better rubber does help a lot but you need to be careful with the loud pedal - don't just plant it, FEEL the throttle and the traction otherwise you just go up in smoke
  6. Was a perfect night for racing at WSID tonight - air temp got down to 9 degress with 94% humidity. Good to meet those of you off the forum that I had a chance to chat with - hopefully more next time as well. My first run EVER in the T netted a 12.9 @ 110mph - that was launching from 1800rpm - gotta be happy with that. Slow 60ft of 2.2 Then launched at 2200 and netted a 12.5 @ 113mph - much better. 60ft was 2.06 Third run stalled it up to 2500 to get the 60ft down and....up in smoke - no traction. Will need to get some ET streets. For reference we're talking 310rwkw 2003 xr6 sedan 4spd auto. 20inch wheels with 225 Nankang tyres. 100,000 kms on the clock. 2600 rpm hi stall. Tuned at Autotech with Edit - well done Spiro
  7. OK gotcha - thanks heaps for the pix. I'll do it this weekend before getting some wider tyres. Launched at 2500rpm at WSID tonight and went up in smoke.....
  8. Go on Shane - share the love with the forum - photos would be awesome
  9. no rego papers - even better
  10. explain hairdryer and mattock handle. Hair dryer until you feel the paint going soft? And what is a mattock handle? You sicko Queenslanders
  11. Probably not enough going this week to get a private lane with everyone 'almost finishing' their cars.... Plus I wanna whup some Holdens. Would you believe it I have had the battery collapse today!! of all the things that could go wrong on drag day. A quick trip to Repco and $128 later and she's ready to go.
  12. good one fellas - there's some options for me. My rims are only 8 inch wide I think so will probably have to get 255's not 275's like you Shane. At what stage do you have to roll your guards? Mine's lowered so I am guessing that to be safe for 255's I'll have to roll the lips...
  13. well look slike a pearler of a day - gonna be plenty of power developed tonight. I will be using 3/4 throttle I think, I am just getting wheelspin. tsammons - just bring your licence rego papers $45 and a helmet, long sleeves and long pants (oh, and shoes). Get there at 5 for scrutineering and start racing at 6. Hopefully we can get a few runs in. See you all there, lookout for me in the Black xr6T with the bling 20's. Come up and say hi - would be good to meet you all. My first run after edit as well so who knows what times we'll be running.....
  14. Geez Shane and that's only on 155RWKW!!!!!
  15. <sorry mods can you move to the appropriate section?> OK got the car back and am heading up to WSID - looks like Sydney weather will be cool and dry this week so should make for some good times. Who is up for it - would be good to meet up with any forum members. M G I know you've got that monster back - are you heading up there for your 10 second pass?
  16. Hi all, Got my car back tonight from a custom edit tune and I must say the result is awesome! Initially it spun up 330RWKW on the dyno but we backed it off a touch for a 'safer' 310RWKW. The gearbox might live a little longer that way. Mods are APS intercooler, injectors, 4" dump pipe, 5" ballistic cat, twin 2.5 inch exhaust, higher boost actuator and of course EDIT. I am running 20" rims with 245 width Nankang tyres at the back and I am in wheelspin heaven. No traction at all. Hopefully I can run it at WSID this Wednesday to get an idea of time for these mods. And it will probably have to be done at 3/4 throttle. Anyone come across some 20" tyres (I assume 245, 265 in width) that they have found to be sticky...!!! At these sorts of power levels....?
  17. From firsthand experience Tomtom does not have any streets missing. I have found it to be awesome. In addition, it has points of interest in it's database so you can se fixed speed cameras, petrol stations, navigate to restaurants etc etc damn good I say. ESPECIALLY the SPEED CAMERAS Oh and having Mr T's voice tell you to "turn left in 200 metres" you FOOL
  18. If you have a phone with Smybian operating system (Nokia N70 for example) there's another option. Get a large memory card for it (256mb or so should cost $30) and a bluetooth solar powered GPS antenna (approx $150). You can purchase (or dare I say it download from somewhere) TomTom software and install it on your phone. This then blutooths with the GPS to provide you with satnav. The maps are plenty big enough and the voice directions excellent. Also means your system is totally portable. This is good for when you're in your wifes/GF's car and navigation issues arise. I have used this system for about a month now and found it excellent. And cheap.
  19. First car was a 1300 Mark 2 Escort - that ended up with a 360horsepower 2 litre turbo motor in it, big 14" Simmons wheels, lowered etc. Then bought a 1300 Mazda 808 Coupe. Converted it to an RX3 coupe with injected 12a turbo & 5 speed. It sh%tall over the Escort - heelspin in every gear and chirped into fifth. Moved up in the classy stakes and got a Mazda HB Cosmo 4 door (the Jap 929) with it's factory 12a turbo. That ended up extend ported, lightened flywheel, zorst etc etc. Company Car EA falcon Company Car V6 Magna Company Car VX Commodore Company Car VX Calais V8 Soarer when I wasn't working (zorst, CAI, lowered, 18's) Car allowance (woohoo!!) XR6T Sedan current ride Which is the best - XR6T Which is the most fun - The RX3 Coupe- man that was CRAZY!!

Hey Luke, I have had an MS Media computer for approx 2 years as the basis for my home entertainment - It's a great solution. The computer looks like a DVD player (maybe a little higher) but it's silver etc. It's connected to my plasma screen so there's no visible cables. Everything goes through the plasma. The media centre pc has a 300 gig hard drive so has 100 movies onit, 2 digital TV tuner cards so we can watch and record at the same time. High definition TV is awesome to record and watch, with channel skipping etc etc. We have over 8500 songs on the hard drive so there's always music in the house as well as loads of photos stored on it. 22mb/sec broadband connection by wireless router so we are online all the time and the webcam allows videoconferencing in fullscreen around the world to catch upwith family and friends. It comes with a wireless keyboard (with mouse built in) and an infra-red romte control with all the right functions. It's also got, IMPORTANTLY the girlfriend tick of approval for being easy to use. She has all her shows set up to record every week and so on. I can't recommend it highly enough for a $1000 solution (pc that is). Your choice of plasma, projector, additional amplifiers and speakers...
  21. Capa recommends 0.8mm to 0.9mm gap for the plugs. You should find that this plus the generic 10psi tune will transform the car with approx 220 rwkw. With a custom tune as others have said your tuner should be able to push it to 240~260wkw. Then it's time for valve springs.

    Mobil 1 Synthetic. It's all I would run n a turbo car.
  23. Thought this might create a few chuckles
  24. I'm in - if I get my car back in time!
  25. Without knowing the exact fittings on the engine I would say the best place to fit the hookup is as close to the inlet valves as possible. Thoeretically this gives the most "true" boost reading of what's going in the engine. So a t piece or fitting on the inlet manifold would be best. That way all the pressure losses of the piping and interooler are accounted for.
