  1. There wonh't be much better viewing than side by side 11 second passes, in manuals.. Mine isn't 'complete' but I'll get out there if Youngys' going.. ← Damn straight..I'l be down there watchin intently waiting for the day when I can afford a twin plate clutch so I can have a got with the big boys too... ← mate you've gotta get your priorities right. You're in the same boat as me job wise, I've just been living off 2minute noodles for the past month.
  2. There wonh't be much better viewing than side by side 11 second passes, in manuals.. Mine isn't 'complete' but I'll get out there if Youngys' going.. ← well the latest from toll ipec is now I wont get my clutch till monday so depending on how busy I am at work I might not be able to change it out in time. Mine isnt complete either yet I'll still be running the 390rwkw tune on straight pump fuel (no additives) and full weight and bog stockrear end just with lowered springs and my mt streets. Down the track I'm gonna look at tailgate off, tramp rods (rtv) and a 430rwkw tune but at the moment I believe it has the potential for a mid 11 in full street trim besides the mt streets. Somebody better be down there with a vid camera as ben said 2 11sec manual T's side by side will be a sight and the 1st time its ever happened.
  3. I have sent an option 6 Road/Race twin to a guy in WA and I can't wait till he gets it in the car and gives all of you his findings. Mal Wood ← That would be me. Waiting patiently for the mailman to come so I can fit her up and run some decent manual times down the quarter. Didn't come today, Hopefully she'll be here tomorrow and then it might be a very late tues nite in the garage while I fit her up so I can get the ute down the drags this wed. ← I don't think you will get it that quick as it normally takes quite a few days on Road freight, don't forget when you fit it to use New flywheel to crank bolts and clean all the surfaces with thinners and wipe with a clean cloth. Don't use any grease on the splines. Mal ← no worries mate checked the con note and definitely here tomorrow and I'll fit it sat, then... drags next wed to break a record.

  5. my atomic engine is quiet as now its run in, just the loping idle from the cams.
  6. well done ben I suspect by the end of this season low 11s will be common place in manuals and in otherwise street trim with just mt streets. awesome
  7. I have 1 with 7000kms on it and comes with a billet chrome moly flywheel which u can have for a very reasonable price. 750 for boh cost 1550 can drive in car still works perfect. been overheated at drags but once it cooled now perfect again so I ordering twn plate
  8. sorry to hear shane. as u know its something I've already been through. I'd advice sending the whole engine back to atomic as they did a great job and I had about $1500 worth of head damage. Even though the compression ratio wasn't changed the new bottom end was no doubt a lot more efficient than the factory bottom causing the detonation.
  9. looks like I will be getting one of these babies for my beast. One fine looking piece of engineering.
  10. count me in, I'll pass on the brekfast though

the ute doesnt have the aero of a sedan I dont run a hard cover or tornneou ever so anything above 240 is pretty hairy I've had the ute off the clock once (around 265) but never again. 270 is a top effort especially keeping up with an r1. I would of loved to witness that 1.
  12. spotted ninka yesterday on leach hwy tried to have a play but lots of traffic and he didnt seem interested.

ditto to that but on my zx10. New litre bikes rule when it comes to speed
  14. sorry I should have read the above posts more clearly, I have NFI wat im ment to be disagreeing with. How does my post help, it tells of my expirience with a stock clutch. A little abuse and well it slips, more power and depending on how its developed it slips, as I stateed in my post. The original question is about feedback on the stock clutch and power level where it will let go. This is MY feedback and my expirience on what power level which I feel my clutch has let go. And how are MOST of my posts nonsensical. that's a pretty bold genralisation to be making. Scotty please try to keep it on topic for the sake of this thread and dont be a post w h o r e ← "don't be a post whore" mate look at your sig. U only joined march this year and have a stock car and of your 1000 plus posts I'm yet to see anything informative yet. As for IH8TOADS, I agree with ben (F6 ute) and say go the edit now and then when winters over and drags open, you'll have enough money saved for a clutch and custom tune and you'll be set for low 13s for the whole drag season. It'll be the big battle of u vs steve with edit only.
  15. yep back for good. same goes for myself u can only do fifo for so long.
  16. Well simon (xtreme ford tuning) is a really great tuner so drivability is better than stock. Its a *beep* cat until you yank its chain. My mrs can drive the thing (provided its dry) and she just looks at the tacho and doesnt go over 2000rpm. Its got so much torque it'll pull any gear at just above idle so that means she can drive it up to 110km/hr which is the legal speed limit. Above 2000rpm and its an absolute animal but that doesn't mean you can't drive it flat out everywhere, just a lot of power is wasted through wheelspin (on street rubber) but that's half the fun. it'll overtake pretty much any car on the road whilst leaving black lines down the road be it 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 4th gear and that's on new 255tyres. I think the best way to answer your question (as I suspect many of the other guys on this forum in the 400+ club would say) is that 400rwkw isn't entirely useable but that's the exact reason we do it, because its fun.
  17. cheers. I'm quite busy for the rest of the weekend but might be able 2 squeeze a ride in tomorrow arvo then I start my new job monday so it'll b weekend rides only from then on. I'll give u a call tomorrow, gotta hope for some fine weather also
  18. thanks. I really appreciate all the comments and positive feed back
  19. Clarify for the masses young Brendan.. F6 ute slowed down to get a fly by from Youngy on vid, but said cameraman was asleep, and youngy was toooo quick.... Ahh, That sounds better ← yeah you were not booting it though, you let him glide....I mean slide by ← It does haul in 4th though.. when the wheels stop spinning ← It's sure gonna be fun tryin to get the thing to hook up at the track. I suppose time will tell. But till then you're the man.
  20. How long before u start your rebuild mate? Oh and everybody knows that oranges goes waaay faster than grapes, they do out of my spud gun anyway.
  21. 17's...... arent real slicks bud. ← What wheels have u been putting on the thing? I thought u got MT ET Streets for 17s ← We'll save that for race day...
  22. There 20s mate runing 225 fronts and 255rears. I've got lovells super lows at front and reset rears done to suit by malaga springs and suspension here in perth hope that helps. ← Mate, how the heck can you be running only 255's on the back? I have 275's and they are dodgy - you must be crazy! In a good way of course. ← I've only got 8.5in wide rims so I think 255 is about as wide as u can go, they're actually quite controllable. don't worry I've got a set of mt streets as well for when I want ultimate hook up.
  23. cheers mate, so do I. A lot of people are undecided whether they like the wheels or not. I didn't want to go with the chrome brigade, I reckon it looks tougher as is.
