Fg Lsd Are They The Same As Bf Lsd?
Cheers Benny. Already looked into the TC programs but as I drive my car most off the time with it off it wont really matter LOL but I was told by a one of fords electrical engineers that the TC on the G6ET cuts in a bit earlier (due to the open diff) but the DSC mapping is "virtually" the same as the XR6T. He did also say that it is possible to change the "personality" of the G6ET's TC/DSC to match the XR6T's and that will be looked into once the diff is in. This is being done in 4 weeks time as my Auto is suffering very bad 1st to 2nd shift shock/lag/slip and when the ZF tech was flown to adelaide last week to check my car he saw that the PCM personality didnt match up to the ZF's TCU personality and hence the issues im having, he even showed me on the dyno by ramping it up in 4th only to find it hit the limiter at 204kmh not the 230 that the turbos are supposed to be limited to. I really think I bought a late friday afternoon lemon with all the issues ive had but they are slowly getting sorted which is the main thing

Fg Lsd Are They The Same As Bf Lsd?
Na ZF autos behind the turbo 6 and boss engines in the FG use the 2.73 ratio which is the same ratio as the BF model turbo and boss ZF autos used. Guess I'll just give it a go and see if it all bolts straight in and the tailshaft and driveshafts fit up with no issues.

Fg Lsd Are They The Same As Bf Lsd?
Hi Guys, Just wondering if the LSD in the FG turbo sedans is the same as the LSD's in the BF turbo sedans? I know the ZF Autos both run the 2.73 ratio. The reason I am asking is ive been offered a brand new BF 2.73 LSD assembly to put into my G6ET, but I dont want to pull it all out only to find that the BF diff is not going to fit up etc

Xr6t Luxury Pack Interior?
Ive already tried the lithium grease on the striker but that hasnt fixed it at all, it does it worse when going along a rough road and or when turn in and out of driveways etc. Seems to be when the car "flexes". The noises from the dash are coming from: 1) up behind the glovebox, have pulled the door off and had a look/feel around there but to no avail 2) the other noise is behind the gauge cluster, it sounds alot like "plug loom" rattle. These noise happen whenever the car is moving at speeds above approximately 20kmh. I have already fixed the rattles within the inner front guards by getting rid of the christmas tree style clips and in there place used proper "scrivets" instead. They are now nice and tight, also foam taped the inside of the inner plastic gaurds where they sit on the mudgaurd lip. When I get some spare time im going to pull the dash assembly out and sort out the dash rattles as they drive myself and missus crazy, they are that bad. I live here in SA so us lucky buggers dont have any toll roads so have no need for a e-tag

Xr6t Luxury Pack Interior?
I find it quite easy to keep the cashmere leather clean. So this exciting stuff on the horizon, does that mean ford is going to learn how to build a car with no squeaks and rattles at last? Honestly my G6ET has more noises in it than a babies rattle the main ones being in the dash and somewhere in the "B" pillar (its had them since the day I drove out of the dealership), it really lets down a generally ok built car, especially one with such low kms as mine.

Xr6t Luxury Pack Interior?
The luxury pack interior option on the XR6T includes the "colour" screen (premium sound) and dual climate control. If ya shop around there are some damn good G6ET deals out there which narrows the gap right down between it and a optioned up XR6T.

Xr6t Luxury Pack Interior?
The G6ET suspension is SFA softer than the XR6T, I had the chance before I bought my car (G6ET) to track test both at a dealer drive day and there wasnt much in it for "grip/handling". If anything the XR6T is a bit more "harsh" than stiffer. Now that ive fitted Kings SSL springs allround that slight "softness" compared to the XR6T is not there anymore. And the cashmere leather interior is only available in the G6ET.

Could This Be A Sign Of Things To Come?
If I traded it in it wouldnt be on another FG falcon or a commondore plus to trade now would mean a big ass rape with depreciation.... the plan was to keep this car for at least 5yrs, I reckon itll be totally rooted well before then the way its going.

Could This Be A Sign Of Things To Come?
*Update* Just thought id post up a quick update now that the car has done just on 4000kms (3100kms with the new engine) Today I had the car back to a "new" and much better ford dealer (even though its a 160km round trip to them) for its 3000kms check over..... Well they fixed the inaccurate fuel gauge which is good, Ambient temp sensor/Left mirror is also being replaced just awating the new one to come in, new glovebox door will be fitted once ford has sorted a fix out for this issue (apparently this is quite a big issue they are trying to solve) BUT the biggest surprise came when I was showing the Tech the issue im having with the very very harsh and abrupt gearchange from 1st to 2nd that makes the car seem like the diff is going to fall out..... We were looking under the car and decided to check the 3 diff bushes and you guessed it they are rooted, especially the smaller left and right side ones (they are torn around the centre tube). The large centre rear bush also seems to be working its way out of the subframe which is not a good sign. :banghead: So they have ordered the new diff bushes and then will be reassessing the ZF auto and wether that will be replaced as it seems to be a possible issue with the TCU when it does the gearchange. What it does is flares/slips (that bad that it sometimes cutsout) then it lags and thumps very very hard into second gear, it does it regardless of what mode the trans is in but it only does it when it shifts at revs over 5000rpm.. All other gear changes are pretty good though.,

Photo Chop Help
Like what I did to mine but instead of using black I painted the silver grilles the same colour as the car (ego) but left the chrome surrounds, looks much better and ive had postive comments from all that have seen it in real life (as pics dont show the full effect)

Fg Oil Cooler
I just bought the cooler and the 2 hoses for my car, cost me just over $250 Part numbers are: Cooler assy eng oil - 5H2E 6A642 AD Hose cooler outlet - BG 6B850 A Hose cooler inlet - BG 6B851 A Now be aware that some of these oil coolers are being supplied with the incorrect "mounting" bolt (Some of the supplied mounting bolts have the smaller 3/4 16UNF thread which suits the ford AFL1/Ryco Z9 oil filter). The FG falcons have a M22x1.5 thread on the filter, so you may have to order the other mounting bolt (which suits the Ford AFL101/Ryco Z516 oil filter). The part number for the correct FG mounting bolt is: BAF 6L626 A

G6et = Awesome
A couple of hours work (including spray booth time) and all that is fixed. I reckon ego, black and velvet look great on a G6ET.

My First Drive - G6et
The new 6 Diesel has 136Kw's/400Nm Vs the old MPS6's 190Kw's/380Nm. Ive driven the new 6 diesel and it is not as quick as the old MPS6, the diesels best attribute is the low down torque (400nm @ 1800rpm) also fuel economy is bloody good to. On a trip from adelaide to melbourne we averaged just over 6L/100kms. I would say though that the new 2.2 diesel mazda 6 is the pick of the new 6 range BUT that's if you can handle driving a diesel car and it comes in 6speed manual gearbox only (which isnt a bad thing in my opinion).

Dont forget Graham west dyno (Adelaide Performance Engineers) on marion road at Parkholme

My First Drive - G6et
Sorry to say mate but Wayne has shut up shop due to personal reasons, so he no longer has the reflash gear from piasini engineering. Wayne was a great bloke to chat to about all things ECU related when I had my MPS mazda.

My First Drive - G6et
Go to the www.ozmazdaclub.com also look at ozmps.com Most power up parts for the mazdas can be bought from mps garage ( http://www.mpsgarage.com.au/shop/search/102/cx7.html ) in sydney although I bought all my parts direct for my MPS from the manufacturers in the USA Im on both those forums due to owning a MPS before I bought the foulcoon.

My First Drive - G6et
The CX7 loves to drink the fuel too. I traded a modded MPS3 (same disi 2.3 engine as the CX7 just with a bit more power) and damn my G6ET is getting slightly better economy than it!

My First Drive - G6et
Turbotom your also welcome to drive my G6Eturbo and do a comparison to the "dealer test car" G6ET that you drive. Only mechanical mods to my car (so far) are XR8intake/lower airbox and kings SSL springs.

My First Drive - G6et
Mine makes alot of noise when putting ya boot into it.... I thought it was a turbo "whine" sound but have now worked out its from the gearbox....it does it very loudly from 2000-4000rpm, it actually gives me the sh*ts as it sounds like a small kid is jammed under the car when ya boot it and it goes "Weeeeeee" as you accelerate. Im really hating my G6ET at the moment, shouldve bought a manual like I orginially wanted (ive always had manual cars)

Could This Be A Sign Of Things To Come?
Nope just cut the old crooked tip off and made up the new one then welded it on to the muffler. I was thinking of getting rid of the muffler but this car is my daily drive car and theres no way I wanted a droney/loud crap sounding car. I may look into a full turbo back exhaust once the car has a few more kms on it (depends on when I flashtune it, fit the bigger injectors and bigger cooler).

New Ute And Windscreen Is Not Clear
Yeah isnt that so true.... I was waiting for the dealer that I bought my G6ET from to tell me that it was normal for them to drop a piston 5 days after ya buy the car

Could This Be A Sign Of Things To Come?
Yeah I thought painting the whole foglight surround may make the light look small and weird (plus ive seen the complete black surrounds on the G6 and didnt like them). so I masked off the silver around where the light opening is and painted the rest body colour, I reckon it looks pretty good especially when ya see it in real life, as pics dont do it much justice. Next mod will be the blacked out headlights from the "base" model falcons (oh and the fpv's)

Fg Xr6 Turbo
Yeah im getting the parts together to do something very similar on my G6ET except im fitting the larger sized rear rotors and matching rear calipers from the territory (so same rear brake setup as the BF XR6T/XR8)

Could This Be A Sign Of Things To Come?
Also changed the stock exhaust tip this morning as well. The stock tip was crooked and that made it look crap. Heres a pic of the new tip on the car:
