Failure to abide by these rules will ensure you are not invited to future events held by FordXR6Turbo.com. The reasons for these rules are: • Safety – We don’t want to put any of our members, and the general public in any danger. • Public Perception – We do not want the Ford XR6 Turbo community to face the same ridicule and stereotypes other car communities face. The rules are simple: 1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...Any breaches will be reported to the local police. 2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. There is also a designated cruise anchor that will stay at the back of the cruise. You must not overtake the cruise leader, or fall behind the anchor. If you have to stop or drop back for what ever reason, the anchor will stay back with you. 3. Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost. 4. CB Radio’s; if you don’t have one, follow the maps, and directions given out. If you do have one, please limit chatter during the twisty parts of the cruise. This will allow the cruise leader to relay information about road conditions, upcoming obstacles, etc. efficiently. 5. Please turn up to the meeting point with a full tank of petrol and time to spare to chat etc. 6. During the cruise, please have head-lights on normal beam. It is up to individuals if fog lights are on, but be mindful that in some States, it is illegal to have fog lights on in most situations. 7. The Cruise Controller attending the cruise decides the route. Requests for route changes will be considered but the decision of the Cruise Controller is final. 8. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, it’s Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Organisers/Cruise Controllers, or Owner responsible/liable for any damage and/or grief sustained (simply; if you stuff up it’s your fault, not ours). 4. Hiya Guys, I'm more inclined to have the indoor karts day either in June or August during the coldest and wettest time of the year. If we can get in a good sunny Sunday in May, I'd prefer to go for a cruise. Autumn is a great time to see the country - so I'm thinking maybe a cruise to DaylesFord - Hepburn Spa - Castlemaine - Maldon (maybe a circuit around the lake near Maldon). Looks like some would like that as well. I'll post up proposed route soon. Anyone who knows the area or been to parts of it and would like to suggest routes/places of interest to visit, please post up!

  7. Hi shockF6, I've sent an email off to them to ask them what we have to do to organise a track day there at Winton. Anyone reading this who has organised something like this before, please let me know.
  8. Which track would you goto in Victoria? What do you do on a track day? So, straw polls so far (not a committment to do a cruise/event but an expression of interest in possibly doing a cruise/event at some time in the future): Track Day shockF6 Castlemaine / Daylesford Cruise shockF6 EvilDaifu Cruise Date Sunday 21 May 2006 (Sunday after Mother's Day) EvilDaifu Please feel free to add in new options as you see fit or register an expression of interest. I'll post up some ideas for a route around the Castlemaine/Daylesford area. I've been to Hepburns Springs to collect free mineral water from the pumps and could be fun to do as a pitstop.
  9. Hiya Guys, I was discussing about our next trip with Mr Turbo and some of you at Warburton. Some options we have are: - Maybe a cruise around the Castlemaine Daylesford area. - Someone suggested a race day. - I saw a past cruise that looked like a nice trip out to Walhalla (some nice twisty bits into the historic township). Some of you may remember it from several years back. Here's some info about Walhalla. It's near Mt Baw Baw and you take the Princess Highway to Moe to turn off to go to Walhala. Walhalla is a small, picturesque and historic mountain township in the Gippsland district's Baw Baw Ranges in Victoria, in the south-eastern corner of mainland Australia. At its peak, some 5,000 people lived in and around Walhalla, the centre of a pioneer goldfield that extended to the nearby towns of Aberfeldy, Toombon, Donnelly's Creek, Red Jacket and Jericho to the north and west, and Cooper's Creek, Happy Go Lucky and Jubilee to the south and east. Only a handful of permanent residents live there today, but in the last decades of the 19th century, it was the heart of one of the most vibrant gold mining districts in the world, and a major influence in shaping the prosperity of a newly founded state. I kinda like the idea of either the Castlemaine Daylesford area (nice smooth drive and historic townships) or Walhalla (some nice twisty bits and historic township). Any comments and suggested dates for our next cruise? I'd like to do something in May if possible.
  10. Finale - Warburton at Three Sugars having a refreshments and a well earned break after all the twisty bits
  11. At Upper Yarra Dam. Ladies and Gentlemen Start Your Engines Other pics there.
  12. At Lake Mountain - nice drive up (see the movie too here. )
  13. At Fernshaw (between Healesville and Marysville). Full size group shot (1MB) using tripod (so hopefully nobody missed out). Other pics at Fernshaw.
  14. Very nice, indeed! I think some may say the weather was not so good, but looking at it another way, we had great effects for some of the photos like the mists amongst the tall gum trees
  15. Rob, thanks. I think it was a team effort. So thank you. Looking at some of the pics already up, especially some of the ones with the cars Indian File on the road through the Black Spur (I think) is pure calendar stuff. Well done, guys I should have some pics up soon. In the meantime, you may want to have a look at the following .mov Beware: It's about 12MB. Here are some instructions to download and watch the .mov file. 1. Use MS Internet Explorer to goto ftp://xr6turbo.mobiledata.net.au/cars/Yarra/ 2. When prompted, enter username cars and password cars. 3. Use normal drag'n'drop to grab a copy of the .mov file to put on our local desktop. 4. If it says you need Quicktime to view the file, then I suggest Googling for Quicktime downloads and install it (sometimes comes bundled with iTunes). It has sound too.
  16. Hiya Guys, Thank you for all coming along. I had a great time. I've started a new topic for your review pics of the Yarra Ranges cruise here to make it easier to get to the pics. Let see some pics
  17. Hiya Guys, So as you don't have to wade through heaps of posts to get to the pics, I've started this topic. Thank you for everyone coming along because, like I've always said, it's the people that make the cruise. I definitely had a great time. It was a fantastic turnout (almost 100%) considering the challenging driving conditions. Special note of recognition to those guys that made the effort to came from afar - Wangaratta, Geelong, Seymour to name some places. I'm hoping that when you post up your pics, that you are able to block out the number plates. I don't use anything fancy. I just use Microsoft Paint (right click on the picture and Open With Paint - then use the spray can or paint brush to block out any number plates that are visible.) Save As to save your changes. As an added step, I often use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to resize to 1024 x 768 pixels as it makes it easier to download and view the pics in a timely fashion without losing visible definition (also saves on forum server harddisk space which is a real $ cost to Chris). To do that, just right click on the picture and either Edit or Open With Microsoft Office Picture Manager (if you have it - comes with Microsoft Office) and select Edit Pictures to make it 1024x768 pixels or 800 x 600 pixels (usually results in a file about 100kB). Information about the cruise route can be found here if you are interested, including the single download pdf. So let's see some pics Till next time we meet Kind Regards, Mr Turbo and EvilDaifu
