the old Platinums kick like a mule though... :-(
  2. I have the same thing since the CAI fitment, it seems almost like you can hear the waste gate opening, yet only when on cruise and at part throttle back off. Boost control solenoid working perhaps?? Im not sure exactly but it isnt hindering performance.. I was staggered what a difference the K&N and snorkel made.. And the old girl isnt even tuned......yet.

If you're lucky, you can score front door parking AND have great ales in Freo... My wife and I were heading back from Margs and jagged front door parking on a Sunday arvo, an almost unheard of occurance!!

For a good micro-brewery, try Feral Brewery in the Swan Valley, the Feral White does the trick.. unfiltered and cloudy, almost a meal in a pint glass.... Yum!!
  5. [The other thing that I wanted to ask is that I have heard that the LPG Terra and XR6 Turbos are set up to flick over to Petrol when you plant the foot. Is this correct? Yep, you're right in that there is a transition from gas to petrol, then as load falls away it transitions back to sequential gas use. Im looking at the software tomorrow to determine exactlly how the transition point is defined and what is used to determine the exact engine load ( TPS, MAP, ) Will try to achieve a respectable level of boost before the transition in an effort to maximise the gas advantage and keep actual petrol useage down. Hey, if you really hoof the thing, it is still going to use lots of petrol but if most of the driving is off boost then I would expect the gas to do most of the work. Now to see if the theory will work... Mal K

If you can find it in the eastern states, Lobkowitz Prince from the Czek (?) Republic..... 500ml bottle and approx 5.7% Best blonde bock Ive experienced but unfortunately no longer available in Perth. Mal K
  7. Back at last, things have been a little hectic at work so the Territory conversion has been a little neglected. I hope to commence this weekend ( the only time I have away from work) and am breaking the conversion down into stages. So far, I hope to run to this schedule: Stage 1: Remove spare wheel and carrier, heat shielding and rear muffler. Fit up gas tank and bracket and run wiring required to control lock off solenoids. Fit up gas filler neck into factory filler flap area, just above and to the front of the petrol filler pipe. Remove and fabricate new exhaust pipe section from centre pipe near rear suspension sub assembly to factory rear muffler. Stage 2: Run associated gas lines and cabling from tank to engine bay. Stage 3: Mount converter and filters, gas ecu and harness Stage 4: Either drill lower half of of inlet manifold in-situ or remove and drill/tap then fit injector nozzles and distribution blocks. Stage 5: Connect harness and final hoses and piping. Double check all fittings and fill tank. Stage 6: Tune. Remember, gas fitters allow 16hrs to do all of this (Except dyno time) which I reckon is a little skinny if you are going to do a really nice job ( Hey, its the standard we would all like to have for ourselves..) so lets see how things work out. Ive broken the job down into these stages to ensure that the vehicle remains driveable at each phase. Now to get down and dirty (and find a friendly 4WD Dyno....) Mal K
  8. Heres the problem. There is a fabricated bracket that fits on the drivers side of the cargo compartment and the wheel mounts up against it, standing upright. Small problem of losing the flexibility of having seven seats... I decided to purchase the factory roof bars and mount the spare up there when going on any long trip but around town just carry a coupla cans of tyre inflator and puncture repair. Since having decent cars with good (read "Legal tread depth") tyres, I havent had a puncture for 5yrs.. I realise that there can and quite probably will be punctures that the tyre sealant wont fix, but as most of our driving around is at most 20km from home base, even if I have to leg it home to get the spare wheel, it is an outcome we are willing to live with. I can appreciate that having the damn thing on the roof isnt the most asthetic yet Im sure I can find an acceptable non-fugly outcome... :-) MJK
  9. Here are a few pics of the kit, tank and associated parts: Sorry if they are a little dark, it was late in the day and the light was a bit crappy. Some of the smaller parts were still bagged so I shall get them online 2moro. The fun begins!!
  10. Finally have it in my hot little hands, first impressions are that it looks a little daunting, huge pile of bits, ecu, harness and the like. Tank uses two cylinders of different diameters linked together so as to not compromise ground clearance and departure angle and weighs a bit. Will have to fabricate appropriate bracketry to support the converter and filters ( yes, even LPG needs to be effectively filtered to avoid blocking the injector blocks. ) Most critical part will be drilling and tapping the lower section of the intake manifold while not filling the motor with swarf... If it seems too hard I will just remove it and drill & tap on the bench. Its not the drilling that creates much swarf, but tapping certainly does! The gas is dispensed to a series of injector tubes that are installed in the manifold, via an injector block. Anyway, enough of the talk, camera is coming to work tomorrow and then it will become a little clearer.
  11. I guess it mainly depends what you are really after. I traded my F6 for a TGT for practical reasons (expanding family etc etc) and in that role, it suits us down to the ground. Its a difficult thing to compare such disparate vehicles... Still, with a few mods BOTH can fly!!
  12. I reckon it would be around $5k, drive in and drive out. None of these injection kits are cheap to buy, however they are certainly nicer to fit and can be almost stealthy.. Getting the kit on Monday, its been hectic at work with my partners wife just giving birth, leaving me with the crap job of working AND answering the damn phone... :-)
  13. Well, the gas kit and tank have arrived at last. Im collecting them tomorrow and shall get some pics up as soon as possible. Word from the gas kit supplier and installer is that the end of the Federal Govt rebate will be announced in the May Budget, effective 30th of June. Have to really pull finger and get this project on the go or wear the cost of the kit entirely ( not a good option!!).
  14. In Perth, try Automotive Service Solutions in Osborne Park, formerly PetroJect... Have a good range and competitive pricing as well.
  15. The gas manufacturer uses its own tuning software (Tartarini gas injection system) and to play with the factory ecu Im using Snyper. Im intending to map the gas and fuel side of things separately initally, cant be too careful when first setting up. Dont want to create too many issues at once, perhaps later on.
  16. Im about to carry out a gas injection conversion on our 07 TGT, while the government rebate still applies. Our Territory is great to own and drive but is a mite thirsty around town and being from WA, an applicable gas conversion is eliglble for $3000 in both Federal and State rebates. Its proven to be a pain in the ass to firstly purchase the kit (Strong demand and being a small customer didn't help) and then there is the added hassle of getting the appropriate tuning software ( still being resolved...) but I reckon its going to be worth it. Gas vapour injection is heaps nicer, from an installation and operational point of view, and does away with those almighty backfires and heavy gas useage. It transitions seamlessly from gas to petrol and vice versa, and has proven to use about 10-20% more gas, as opposed to 40-50% more using a vapour ring, which incidentally acts as a significant restriction to air intake. Im hoping to keep you all informed via a series of pics and explaination as to the progress Im making.. Im aiming for a level of fitment that would not be out of place as an OEM fitment. Before you get too concerned, Im a licenced Automotive gas fitter not your average backyarder. Stay tuned! Mal K
  17. Another thing, would we be able to keep the factory rims using such an upgrade? Having to change wheels and tyres would add to the all up cost of such a conversion. Thanx!
  18. Im interested in such an upgrade. Pls keep us in the loop about any developments. Just fitted out TGT with Ferodo DS2500's, huge improvement on standard, just as they were on my F6.
  19. Check Throttle Position Switch, Ford have since revised them after having problems. We have replaced a number of them. Do let us know how you go mate, Mal K
  20. Bung-out wont cause any issues, but as the others have said, a cat replacement will cause overboost. Just start slowly and enjoy the TTG and our site, both are huge fun dude... Mal K
  21. Lets see who has a story to top this... My BA2 F6 managed to get thru 9 (nine) diffs, all with different degees of whine/backlash before I gave up and traded it in for our TTG... so far the only warranty claim is for a crooked Turbo badge and some interior plastics that have a poor fit. And also a couple of tailshafts and centre bearing and carrier. No, I didnt even get to give the girl a real belting as I was probably correctly afraid of a "driver abuse" failure. Apart from those problems, damn fine drive. Only did 35k.. Mal K
  22. We service 4 Terry Turbo's and have no issue with crowning out of the tyre @ 40psi.. Keeps a little looseness out of the way they drive too. Mine has been @ 40psi simce day one and wear well so far. Personal preference as much as anything else I guess. Try 36's and if you're happy, keep with it.
  23. I guess no matter how safe you try to make it, accidents can and will happen. Lets hope we can all take a lesson from this.... Race track or just on the way to the shops... Be as careful as one can be...
  24. Yes, very sad news indeed... condolences to his family and those of the other drivers hurt today... Motorsport certainly isnt lawn bowls, always lots of risk and when your numbers up...
  25. Incredibly impetuous racing from Courtney, with so much racing ahead... Mate, what a crap place to come off at all, not just after being overlapped and not yielding... Plain stupid and at a great cost to Ford, championship wise..
