Lowering Springs
Most people just go for the King Springs superlow kit - this lowers the rear by about 50-60mm and you usually have to cut about 1/2" off your bump stops. Ride quality is very acceptable and there's certainly no rubbing with 18" wheels.

Just Got Edited
I'm with bcr on this one. I know my wife's hearing is exceptional and she notices very fine details of plenty of things, but never says much about the car. I thought I'd got away with lowering the car without her noticing. But when we were at a recent Christmas party and another car-mad bloke asked if my my car had been lowered (saying it looked much lower than stock) within easy earshot of my wife, my heart missed a beat. When my wife didn't say a thing and pretended not to notice the conversation, I knew she was already onto me. Smart things these women. :o :o

Herrod Motorsport
The CAPA Flash Tuner and Herrod Stealth box are exactly the same thing and most (all?) tuners won't give a rats which 'brand' you're using if you're paying them to do you a custom tune. Software used to prepare custom maps is the same regardless of the box.

How Many Don't Modify Their T?
Wanted to keep the car as stock as possible (mechanically) primarily for warranty reasons but also wanted a bit more grunt. So I've limited my mods to a 'Phoon CAI, BMC filter and the ubiquitous Edit.

Yet another member of the sly mods club, well done mate!! Yeah, it's hard to explain quite how much of a difference there is between stock and edited cars to the non-believers, enjoy your newfound grunt.

Just Picked Up My New Xr6t- Wow !
Congrats Silverman, glad you're enjoying your new toy. Without trying to sound like a w@nker, it's funny reading about guys getting behind T's for the first time and being so blown away by the power. I was exactly the same when I first got mine - but now, even though I've 'only' got Edit (no other performance mods apart from a CAI), going back to the factory map really feels soooo slow!! I can only imagine what the cars with 300+rwkw must feel like to drive. Good luck with the car and the mods!

Mod List So Far!
400rwkw is no mean feat mate, and (being completely judgmental here! ), you sound like you probably give the car a fair bit of stick. If my assumption is right, I'd certainly be following Adam's good advice and looking at upgrading your internals too. You'll definitely need injectors too, and to achieve that sort of power you'll need something pretty damn good - something along the lines of the Bosch 968s (if they're up to it?) or the Nizpro ones. Contrary to my previous belief, valve springs would probably be a good idea too.

My Hgag Bf Has Arrived...

Biased? Me?! Never!!- 226 Rwkw On Factory Tune?
A bit freakish? I would say virtually unheard of mate! The dyno I had mine done on said that I was getting 215rwkw with a custom tune!!- Bf Typhoon, In Mercury Silver
Mate, that looks just bloody divine, great choice of colour!!- 226 Rwkw On Factory Tune?
Mark, you should take Martin up on his offer and get the latest CAPA generic tunes, I've heard they're pretty damn good considering they aren't 'custom'. If you're worried about the time it'll take to ship the box and have it returned, etc, and want that extra power in the meantime, all is not necessarily lost. If you're comfortable running the 8psi map, I'm pretty sure you can leave that one in your car and still send the box back to CAPA. When you flash in their latest tunes, they'll just overwrite the older 8psi map you're currently running. Let us know how you go mate, I'm keen to hear the difference it makes!- Svo Fpv Tickford Special
I agree, there's WAY too much going on there for my liking. I can't believe some people have such terrible taste.- Canberra And Southern Crew
Thanks for taking this task on Gary. I'm with Falchoon, 23rd would be no good for me, but I should be able to make either of the other dates.- Canberra And Southern Crew
I'd do my best to make it but can't commit until I know when, sorry. Happy to go with the flow on where we eat, even if it means going to the northside again. Gary, knowing this lot, you're better off just telling everyone where and when rather than trying to get a concensus decision - that could take a month of Sundays!- Cheapest Edit Reset?
Well, yeah, it depends on our definition of 'reset' I guess - maybe I should have said 'unlocked'? When you transfer it to another car (doesn't matter whether you are the same owner or someone else), the box has to be unlocked by CAPA or a qualified tuner. And you're right, you can do this up to 5 times (the 5 'lives' people keep referring about). Once this has been done 5 times, then it has to be sent back to SCT in the USA to be reset. Does that make more sense now?- Cheapest Edit Reset?
BAturb and xrturb, you guys aren't quite correct. Have a look at this post of mine where I've tried to explain it all. In short, the first time Edit is used, it downloads your factory map and VIN locks itself to that vehicle. This is the only time it downloads your factory map (so, for example, if you get a flash upgrade from Ford and then reload a custom tune, you'll lose that upgrade 'cos the next time you reload the factory map, it'll be your original one). Even with the factory map loaded back in, you will NOT be able to use the box on another car until it has been reset. And ColinT is also correct - you cannot reset the box unless the factory map has been reloaded first.- Cheapest Edit Reset?
My understanding is that any tuner with the appropriate software can do this for you. If you're getting a tuner to do a new custom tune for your car they'll probably even unlock it for free while they're at it.- Regapped Plugs
And there's your reason why regapping your plugs gave you more power. I'm very surprised that with that much boost your car wasn't running really badly without regapping your plugs!! Regapping plugs is simply a must when you increase boost to those sorts of levels, I'm also surprised your tuner didn't make that abundantly clear to you.- B.p. Ultimate
Did you read the post on pump fuel comparisons? Very interesting read, and it seems that Vortex 98 is the way to go. I'm just bummed the closest Caltex to me (Fyshwick) doesn't stock it!!- Regapped Plugs
ugy, do you mean 0.89 and not 0.98? As blueboost says, there is no reason why you should get more power by regapping your plugs to a smaller gap unless your plugs were misfiring/blowing out due to increased boost in the first place. Theoretically, the wider the gap the better the flame front/ignition of fuel/air mixture and the better power you should make. On a stock car there should be no reason to regap the plugs. Have you had any mods done to yours?- Xr6turbo Fluttering
I'm not gonna give my version of why it flutters, but I will say that my auto does it quite a bit since getting my Edit. In stock form I can say I rarely (if ever) heard the turbo/wastegate/BOV/whatever flutter, but with Edit it does it quite a lot when you lift off the throttle under boost. There's certainly no doubt as to what the sound is, definitely a turbocharged car! - Bf Typhoon, In Mercury Silver
