Fuel Cut Out?
I'd say you hit the rev limiter - definately experience this feeling using SSS and holding it in 1st.

Possible To Disable Low Fuel Warning Beep ?
Hydro Picked up the car yesterday - Ford service advised that they couldn't disable the warning light but I suspect they have adjusted something or flashed the ECU because I was only getting 410km out of a tank - immediately after service my DTE was 210km + 270km on the trip computer. Will take a few days to see if this is real and sustained.

Am I Being Too Fussy?
Cro You sound like my father!!! Just kidding it is good to see someone taking the minor faults seriously. Definately be concerned re oil usage, brake shudder, petrol usage (whats your consumption ? - we avg 15.6L) and gear shift change. I agree with your approach (and my T is is for warranty on heater tomorrow) - I also agree with the sentiment re a repalcement car - its a bit harsh to fork out $50K for a car and need this much work. that being said it costs a lot of money to administer loan cars - this is ultimately added to the cost of your service (and those of everyone else at the dealership) so I'm not attracted to the idea except where major work is being done ie engine or transmission failure. #14,15 and 16 - not my choice but its not my car - its your car - if they are an issue for YOU stick to your guns. Heater No Go.....
My heater has died, absolute no hot air at all, air con works fine, fans are still working just no hot air coming into the cabin. All other lights etc are working ok. Had a look in the owners manual but couldn't identify a fuse that might be at fault - pulled every fuse last night (whoever designed the fuse tweezers should be imprisioned) just in case but still no joy. Will ring the dealer first thing today. Any thoughts ? edit Dealer will have a look on Wed 16/7

Exhaust Change
I read the article but still found it a little light on in terms of actual details ie what I need to get my local exhaust shop to do. If I have read it correctly they didn't just cut out the muffler and replace it with straight pipes, they removed the entire section of the exhaust and replaced it with new fabricated pipes. To my mind this would look a lot neater but would also be more expensive ??? Plonky - note your comments re EPA but what's worse noise or reducing emissions by improved fuel efficiency ?

Possible To Disable Low Fuel Warning Beep ?
Is it possible to disable the low fuel warning beep ? I'm happy enough with the warning light - the beeping drives me bonkers ie 80km, 70, 60, 50, 40, etc etc only to discover when you fuel up that I'm only sqeezing in 58-59L.

Blue Window Switches
Review of blue light window switches service by Cam Not being brave enough to wield a soldering iron in the vicinity of my XR6T I recently took up an offer by one of the Forums members, Cam, to do the fine detail work for me. I removed the switches one foggy cold Canberra Monday morning, packed them up and sent them on a holiday to Queensland. By Friday afternoon the switches had been modified and were back in my hands. Full marks to Cam for his prompt turn around, value for money and packing. Five minutes later I was in love.....second to the footwell lights this has to be one of the best mods (value for money) that you can do to your XR6T. One point to note if you have daytime running lights the lighted switches only operate when your manually turn on the headlights - not all the time. If you don't want to do this mod yourself I'd certainly reccomend Cam to do this for you - this is not a paid advertisement but just my way of saying publicly thanks to Cam :banghead: and reminding other members of this service. Cam does charge for this service but its less that the cost of one lighted switch from Ford.

Please Explain
Why do the interior lights come on when the open the boot remotely ???? I can get why the interior lights come-on when opening the car but I don't understand the thinking with the boot.

Blueprint XR6T based in Woden, matching "blueprint" personal plates XR:6XX. If you see this car being driven hard ie traffic light grand prix etc that's the wife driving - I'm much more sedate

So, Who Drives Xr240 ?
cjl that the phantom one ? I have seen it parked in Civc on a number of occaisions. There are a few BA's near me, 1 nice Blueprint XR8 which I drooled over evey lunch time until my T arrived. I also see a lot of the YCL XXX blueprints around but again it is very hard to pick a Turbo from a non-Turbo. I've also seen a harvest / congo green around which I thought looked quite good, a couple of Mercury silvers which IMHO is probably the nicest colour after the blueprint and the odd phantom. Ive also spotted 1 Narooma blue which was OK as well. Haven't seen the Venom Red in the flesh as yet. Martin PS Isn't it funny that you *only* see cars of the same make and model ? Never mind the other odd thousand cars you go by on the way to work, its the other XR6T you remember ? I initially though perhaps I should have gone another colour - hte blueprint does seem to be everywhere

Quote On Xr6t
I have found it sometimes takes dealers a lot to be convinced you are serious. I always make a point of going in person ( and yes during the day because a suit gives you more credibility ) and then following that up with a phone call or fax. The dealers don't need to do a lot of work to sell the T so they are not chasing leads. Keep ringing them up - you'll get a quote eventually. Make sure you've done your homework - if you can tell them exactly what you want in terms of options they don't have to do much work - easier sale for them. I've also found carrying a cheque book in your hand is useful sign

Joke Of The Day
A man crawls out of the desert and into a small village which has some market stalls in the street. He crawls up to the first one. 'Water, water! Give me water!' he cries. 'I'm sorry,' says the first stallholder, 'I only sell custard.' The man crawls up to the second stall. 'Water, water! Give me water!' he cries 'I'm sorry,' says the second stallholder, 'I only sell cream and sponge.' The man then crawls up to a third stall. 'Water, water! Give me water!' he cries. 'I'm sorry,' says the third stallholder, 'I only sell hundreds and thousands.' 'I can't believe no one has any water,' says the man. 'I know,' says the stallholder, 'it is a trifle bazaar.'

Question On Fresh Air Vents
Can anyone help me out here: I'm finding that I'm using the aircon a lot to keep the temperature down inside the car - mainly because the air coming in through the vents is a bit warmer than the outside air. I know I'm not explaining this very well but in Canberra at the moment the outside temp of a morning is around 5C but the air coming in through the vents is probably closer to 15C+. Yes I know I can put the window down. Does anyone else find they are using the aircon a lot more than they have in other cars ? Does anyone else feel the air coming through the vents (non aircon) is not = to the outside temp air Thanks PS Car is having its 3000km service today and Ive asked them to check this as well as the rattle in exhaust on idle.

Exhaust Change
Another question 4. How much did it change the fuel economy ?

Bike Riders Out There
Current ride is a GSX1400 (naked muscle bike), fuel injected, 22L, 1400cc of fun, fully adjustable front and rear suspension, power commander, pipes on order, re-mapped with 100Hp at the rear wheel, oodles and oodles of torque 120nm, really good bike if you can deal with the weight (235kg). I commute all year round including in the middle of Canberra's winter. Previous bikes were mainly cruisers (Yamaha Royal Star, Yamaha Dragstar, 250 Virago). First bike was a Honda Spacey which was a) dirt cheap B) bloody dangerous (shredded the belt doing a 110km down the freeway)

Premium Audio
Vik351 Can you please advise cost of speakers and where they can be purchased ? I'm a little disappointed with the bass on the speakers especially when playing songs like AC/DC Hells Bells (showing both age and musical tastes in 1 hit). Martin

Turbo Fuel Economy
I've seen the instantenous reading hit 79 but that was pushing it (hard) up Hindmarsh Hill in Canberra - my reading jumps all over the place from low 7s to low 20s. Average is 13.9 after 2300km. I do notice that when I'm driving I can get the average down to around 13.6L but after the wife has had the car for a few days it mysteriously jumps up to over 14 - I thought I was the hoon in the family.

Fordxr6turbo.com Scuff Plates
The scuff plate goes on the panel just inside your door, the bit you foot scuffs as you climb into the car (never taking drunk uni students to the footy again) If you have a look you can see the outline in the plastic version of where the scuff plates go.

What Are The Best 0-400m Times Recorded With Xr6t
Aries Do you know the brand of the pod filter / cold air induction kit ? Seems to have been a bit of thought to go into it and the installation looks neat. Your painted engine bay is rather special - only know of 1 other who has an engine bay to match - everyone gets black.

This Doesnt Seem Right
VG I've a leased car and delivery time was around 10 weeks (early Feb --> mid April) - that was prioritised so I can't understand why you are pushed to the back of the queue ? I thought Ford accelerated leased cars to keep the elase companies on side and it was the poor mugs who pay retail (j/k) who got pushed back ?

Blue Window Switches
Cam What values of the SMD resistors did you select ? I can see the SMD lit but is the resistor in the same place as in the other installations ie the right hand side ? Can someone please explain the purpose of the extra pin as I'm not picking that up from any of the installation docs. Congrats all round to those who are brave enough to attempt this - had a look at swapping the SMD on my bike from yellow to blue but put it in the too hard basket - may have another crack after seeing this.
